Goodbye Michael Scott

Steve Carell's Final 'Office' Episode: What Critics Say - Hollywood Reporter

Anyone break away from the draft to watch?

I was too caught up with the draft, but I flipped over to catch the ending. I'll watch it tonight on Hulu.

Re: Goodbye Michael Scott

WOW me and Buster the Debbie Downers for this thread.

I use too watch thought when it was funny, then got sick of it.

To me and this applies especially to movie comedies, especially any Will F. stuff. It is just like porn once you get past the funny parts/sex the plot is awful. Nothing worst then having to sit through the last 20 minutes of a Will F type comedy so they can wrap up the story line, ZZZzzzzzz...

Great show, some really strange office comedy that parallels with some of the crap I have to deal with at work.
Dwight cracks me up.

Does that come as a surprise to you? It doesn't to me.

I enjoyed it. They really tried to make the audience empathize with Michael over the past year or so, and I think episode wrapped that up fairly nicely.

I also think that they didn't want you to like Deangelo, as they didn't want people to be disappointed when the character's run ran out, and Will Farrell left the show.

I'm not that upset about Michael no longer being on the show. I've felt for a while that Nard Dog and Dwight were the funnier characters.

Re: Goodbye Michael Scott

Thanks for throwing the thread a life line cpayne. Yeah Deangelo definitely won't be the long term replacement. They're clearly setting up his exit and one of the special guests they have lined up will get the gig.

Re: Goodbye Michael Scott

Well, the show's been on thin ice ever since Jim and Pam actually hooked up. It had some good story lines after that (Michael Scott Paper Company) but just lost the old zing.

Still it was a nice ending for Michael. Not a particularly funny episode, but okay.

Wrongo. In it's heyday that show was an absolute scream, and one of the most successful as a result.

Re: Goodbye Michael Scott

Maybe it wasn't your cup of tea, but the first 4 seasons had some great stuff.
