LOL.
His wife is hot...I doubt he will look in my direction despite the fact I am devistatingly handsome!

On a side note, I just found out that the Skins are off that week...so I won't even miss a Skins game! That's just pure luck!

Good suggestions guys.

My wife suggested a small TV so we could watch the re-runs of the crashes. Any suggestions on that?

As long as the TV has good reception, and that there is a local ABC affiliate, then you should be squared away, if it's a route you want to go down. However, if you do not own a portable TV, remember to buy one with a digital tuner, so that you can continue to use it after next February.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that.

I think the TV is a waste, my wife just loves to watch crashes from every angle. I am most certainly leaning towards the radio.

How do people converse with one another at the race? Seems like it's too loud to even talk.

The cars aren't always on top of you...and even then you can still converse with the people around you...

Oh, ok.
It was my understanding that the track is small, therefore there are always cars going by. I thought you couldn't hear anything, thus needing earplugs. I misunderstood.

yeah, the earplugs are more for protection...same reason guys who work security at rock concerts wear them...you could go without, but why mess with the eardrums like that?

Be aware of your surroundings when walking around the garages. The cars will not stop for you.

Re: Suggestions for 1st NASCAR event?

That's really cool you’re finally going to a race jsanro! There's really not too much I can add to what Bohnzie and others have said. But unless you’re planning on going to NASCAR events a few times a year I would just rent the scanner at the race. I've rented them a few times and it is cool to listen in on your driver. But honestly the last couple of times I've gone I haven’t bothered with it. I just like to hear and feel the engines roar by and take in all the different smells you'll find at a race. Like some others have said defiantly bring some ear plugs and get there early so you can tailgate and walk around and check the whole event out.

That's true I don't wear them all the time. But it's defiantly wise to bring them especially for the ladies and elderly. It can get hot and if you’re not totally into the race after a while you might start to get a headache and tire really quickly to the load noises. It's a good idea to bring anything you can think of to make the people that only go to the race because you like it happy.
