With Congressional underway today, Tigers golf event in DC. Who are you pickin to win
Glad to see golf back in the DC area, and this being Tiger's event, it's bringing in most of the world's best golfers for the event, great for the area!
Hard to go against Tiger in this event, or any for that matter. I think he'll get it done on Sunday and finish his tournament off with a win.

To be "outside the box" I am going to take...Jim Furyk to win. Is he even playing? LMFAO.

He is slated to play. That's not to far outside the box, he's having a hell of a year. I expect him to play very well, and be in it the mix on Sunday.

Furyk is in the top 3 in the world. He, Tiger and Phil are always good bets.

I'll be rooting for local boy Fred Funk, who right now is tied atop the leaderboard, -3 on the day. Lefty was +4 today. Not a good start. Still some top guys awaiting to tee off...
BTW, I tee off at 1:15pm...with Tiger Woods and Charles Howell III.

Re: With Congressional underway today, Tigers golf event in DC. Who are you pickin to
What a great idea for a thread. I was at Congressional yesterday and have a few observations:
1. Congressional is a great course. If they had been playing there all along instead of Avenel, which is an abortion of a golf course, we never would have lost the old tournament (which means we wouldn't have gained Tiger, so God Bless crappy Avenel) 2. John Daly looked fairly slim. He's Kate Moss compared to Jason Gore who looks like he eats at the Country Buffet about 12 times a day. 3. Tiger healed a blind woman and a crippled man on his way up the eighth fairway before feeding the entire gallery with one $5 hot dog and one $3 dollar package of peanut butter crackers. 4. Davis Love looks like the melting Nazi from Raiders in his new glasses. 5. K.J. Choi smells faintly of cabbage. 6. Summertime + Outside + Girls = Right On! 7. Nick Faldo likes to pass the time before the t.v. broadcast by running over people in his golf cart. 8. John Daly nearly drove the 8th green (354 yards) coming up about 5 feet short. 9. They sure do know how to grow grass! 10. My pick to win: Vijay Singh.

Choi turned into a Tiger! Played a hell of a final round, what a shot on 17 out of the trap in the cup to all but finish the thing. Appleby just can't hold up on Sunday any longer, this makes several tourneys he's been right there in the final pairing on Sunday, and just crumbled.

Choi is really balling out this year. You have to wonder how long before he gets his major?
