Would Shanny prefer Dallas instead?

According to Jay Glazer, Shanny would take the Cowboys job over us.... WTF? I was 99% sure he would be in DC in 2 weeks..

Re: Would Shanny prefer Dallas instead?

It's probably because he favors Tony Romo over Jason Campbell. And doesn't want to go through the pain staking process of developing another QB if we decided to draft one. Whatever Snyder offered him in the off season will be substantially increased.

Dallas won't go after Shanny. Jones wants a younger guy and doesn't want to sign any big checks with all of that $$ tied up in the spaceship down in Dallas.

With all of this Shanny talk going on, I would rather see Dungy or Cowher come here. I think that any one those two guys would be what this sorry-ass franchise needs to build a true contender from the ground up.

Dungy won't come back, and Cowher IMO is overhyped... Only 1 SB in like 16 years... And that's after playing in a HORRIBLE division.. IDK about Shanahan going to Dallas, If the job was offered to him I bet he does there instead.

Yep. According to what Glazer said on FOX, Dallas isn't even that interested in Shanny.

Given that Jerry is even more meddlesome with personnel than Snyder, I believe that Shanny's interest in Dallas has been overstated.

Re: Would Shanny prefer Dallas instead?

Dallas is not interested in Shanny. They have their future coach already on their staff in Jason Garrett. This is Shanny attempt to get more coin out of Snyder or Florio attempto put a wrench in the skins plans, because earlier in the week he was taschized by the franchise for rumors that he was speading that Vinny was going to still be apart of this team behind the scenes, started by LaVar Arrington in his interview with Florio on his radio show.

However if it is true and we don't get Shanny it is okay because this job has become very desirable around the league.

No Vinny
Got Talent
High draft pick
Owner with endless money more than willing to open his wallet
Coach friendly GM
Big Market rabid fan base

We have nothing to worry about we will get a quality Coach

Him going to houston would be the equivalent of if Holmgren were to go here, because think if holmgren was pissed at the redskins for making a fool out of Zorn, then y would holmgren want to coach here? Same thing for Shanahan going to houston, if his buddy Gary Kubiak were to get fired in Houston, and they run practically the same offense, then y would he want to go there over here? I could still see dallas going after shanahan, regardless of what glazer said. I think it will be a bidding war between us and Dallas, and I think in the end he'd probably go to dallas, because they're a playoff team with a more proven QB than us.

Re: Would Shanny prefer Dallas instead?

Lets think of this logically...take the emotion out of it and the fact that we all despise the cowboys....look at it from a neutral point of view.

Who would not prefer the Dallas job?
They have way more talent, they have an even larger fan base than we do...they have massive TV coverage. They have an owner that likes spending cash and has won superbowls. They have solid foundations on the lines...c''mon...they are better than the Skins in almost all categories at this point...that is why we needed a new GM and head coach in the first place.

The reality is the Skins are playing as good as they can right now.

The Cowboys underperform regularly...that means a solid coach could have them Superbowl contenders while a good coach for us could get us into the playoffs....think of Gibbs II...he got the most wins out of the team...then think Zorn with the same team....We needed a new GM more desperately than a new coach...the opposite is true for Dallas

The obvious answer is anyone who doesn't want to deal with Jerry Jones.

People like to speculate how involved Snyder is, but the fact is in Dallas Jones is very involved.

Smoke and mirror's bro, smoke and mirror's.

Shanny informed Buffalo that if they wanted him they would have to pick up Allen also. He told them they would be a package deal.

........ who has Allen?

Reports out now saying Shanny told Snyder the same thing and thats why we picked up Allen. I'm telling you the deal was made back in Oct. around our bye when DS went to Denver to meet with Shanny.

I think we need to be more concerned with who Shanny will pick up as positions coach's and who he asks to be brought in as the scouting team.

Dungy has already said he does not want a HCing job. Basically taking a rest from football or happily retired. Cowher has rebuffed DS several times now I think. Maybe I'm wrong. Supposedly Cowher is upset that DS is taling with Shanny. Not sure why...if it's he wanted the job finally, which I doubt cause rumors are he wants the Panthers job, or he thinks it's not polite to HC hunt while the team already has a HC in place.

In any case who cares what he and others think. Last time we waited and did due diligence and came out late with a QB coach as our HC. I think DS is making sure the new HC gets a better start at seasons end. No biggie.
