A thin WR market just became that much thinner.

This is good if the skins are in fact able to structure a trade. If they have to release Coles, the other WR's just got pricier.

Re: Jerry Porter Off the Market
I hope all these free agent WR's resign becasue I don't think any of them are worth the money they will get. The Skins are going to need to find a diamond in the rough WR. All these big name WR's are to expensive for the skins cap situation especially if they are thinking of also drafting a WR at #9.
Maybe they can get TJ Housh from Cinci for a decent price and make him the #2 WR and hopefully draft the #1 WR. He played well last year but maybe doesn't yet have the name for a real big contract. |

Then I would give Thrash an expanded role as the #3 and even though it's unlikely, give McCants another shot to earn some playing time. Yes this leaves us headed in to the season with a very unproven WR corps but what other choice do we have? The only free agent worth pursuing in my mind is Derrick Mason, but I could see a potential bidding war for him and for a 31 year old WR I wouldn't want to see us overpay. |

Re: Jerry Porter Off the Market
I agree completely Matty - I think our biggest question going into next year could be our receivers. We have to see if Jacobs steps up, and I'd REALLY like to see McCants get an extended roll. See if he can catch a ball that's NOT a TD.
We need to find SOME WAY to make opposing defenses respect our passing game or Portis is in for another rough year with a crowded box. |
