Kearse may be an expensive risk
This is what was said in todays Washington Post article:
"Still, teams must be wary. He has battled foot and ankle injuries and has only 11 1/2 sacks over the past two seasons, and Reese acknowledged that the Titans and any other team interested in Kearse must take his health into account. Kearse fractured a bone in his left foot in 2002 and underwent two surgeries, including a bone graft. He severely sprained an ankle last season, but had 9 1/2 sacks and Rosenhaus has declared his client completely healthy now. Rosenhaus sought a signing bonus of around $20 million from the Titans for the three-time Pro Bowl selection." $20M signing bonus....is he nuts? He sounds worse than Champ Bailey and Champ is at least healthy!. |

Kearse is still a beast at the DE position. We took a similar chance with Gardener two years ago and we all know how that ended up. However, I will note that it was a significantly cheaper risk...
Its either him or Warren Sapp I think. Their names are too big for Snyder to pass up. Plus, Gibbs himself is quoted that they already have a plan of which players to get this offseason, and that it will be similar to last year's rapid offseason movement. Hopefully we can keep our remaining 2 picks. |

Kearse's number will come down. That is unless Danny gives it to him!

No, 20 mil signing bonus, gmac. The only money guaranteed in a contract. If he's that expensive, let someone else get him. I don't think we need stars on our D line. Just guys that can stuff the run and collapse the pocket faster than 10 seconds!
We need a decent rush, not the best front 4 in football. I also wouldn't be suprised to see Kearse take a cap hit in order to play for Williams again. I think he wants a ring more than cash. |

It would be ok if he wanted a $20million bonus, but then accepted the minimum in salary over an extended period of time. That, even though it's a huge bonus, may be doable. Kearse prolly won't go for that scenario though.

Alright I got confused for a second, yeah that is a little high, I would say. Maybe Williams can work on him though, I wouldnt be suprised if he could talk him down, but I dont think we will get less than 15 mil.

We don't need another ultraexpensive free agent this year, with his injury history to boot. Lets concentrate on modestly priced players like Philip Daniels.

Bone graft!
Bone graft! Sprained ankles, out 14 games in 2 years, Yeah! Freakish alright at 20 Mil!
I hope cousinvinnie goes for someone else, truthfully. But if Kearse can pass a physical................................. well, then, at least offer something to get him! Don't break the bank though!

For his current asking price I would definitely pass.

Way to much money for an injury prone player like Kearse!

We don't necessarily need Kearse and a lot of highly paid FA, but we do need someone with a good pass rushing ability since we have NONE.
