The 2012 NCAAF thread
I'll start it off with this:
Scout.com: Star DB Mathieu dismissed from LSU It'll be interesting to see what happened that was so bad that they kicked Honey Badger off the team. It sounds like he could be throwing away a promising future. |

Re: The 2012 NCAAF thread
That's it? Did they catch him smoking or did he fail another test? I know he had been previously suspended a game for a team violation but I don't know if that was because of smoking some reefer too.
@Chico: Nice one. |

Re: The 2012 NCAAF thread
I'm shocked if he got kicked off for smoking marijuana. Hell, it seems sometimes that there would be nobody left playing if you were to kick off everybody that smoked. Now, if he's failing drug tests (which they do have to take, even though they are told in advance and are a joke), that might be a different issue. I'm still shocked though. One may speculate that this isn't his first instance where he's been caught doing something he shouldn't. I'm sure some SEC/BIG10 team is going to swoop in and pick him up.
Edit: Ahh..just listened to Joe Schad and he said that LSU had a policy that would kick off a player for 3 failed drug tests. Guess he did fail a few...lol He probably just destroyed his NFL draft value as well.

Re: The 2012 NCAAF thread
Wow. I'm thinking he probably had multiple chances to clean himself up and yet didn't. Not smart for him, he potentially might have cost himself millions of dollars down the road.

Skip Bayless @RealSkipBayliss
Tyrann Mathieu was dismissed after Les Miles found him using RGIII as LSU's QB in NCAA Football '13. Expand Reply Retweet Favorite Anyway I know we shouldn't judge players by the school they go to but it just seems LSU attracts a certain element that finds a way to get in trouble.

Re: The 2012 NCAAF thread
In other news, looks like Auburn is back to doing shady stuff or recruiting shady people?
NCAA reviewing prep transcript of Auburn Tigers' Jovon Robinson - ESPN You know the saying, where there is smoke there is fire. First it was Cam Newton, now this guy. Quote:
At least LSU had some balls and actually kicked him off. You only need look at Stever Spurrier and South Carolina to see how they handled Stephen Garcia to see a difference. Dude had been suspended by the school 5 times before they FINALLY kicked him off. Pretty much will take murder to get kicked off the Gamecocks. Good for LSU.
