Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
I checked out Prometheus this weekend and really liked it. Can't wait to see it again.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
Maybe that's a good thing, considering how badly Dark Shadows tanked, Burton could use a break from Johnny for at least 1 movie.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
it was probably due to lack of alien universe knowledge. i love alien, really like aliens, did not enjoy alien 3, didn't watch any of the others. it was almost exactly what i expected.

SCI-FI is for a select few either you love it or not. Rarely does a Sci-Fi movie evoke excitement to non-sci-fi folks. Like some folks love Star Trek; Battleship Galactica; Firefly; Dr. Who; etc... I have honestly tried to watch all of those and to me they are blah. It takes a movie like Star Wars in order to appeal to the masses. Yes Alien was very popular but most people will remember it for the alien shooting out of the guy's gut; Weaver's skimpy underwear; Ash being a robot and the ending. They won't recall they were on the Nostromo that they went to investigate a ship on moon LV-223 etc. Only a true Sci Fi nerd would remember all the details.

That's My Boy was pretty entertaining. I am usually not a Sandler advocate, but he was pretty funny in this one. Good flick if you like off the wall type comedy.

Go see Ted. It's hilarious. Funniest movie I've seen in ages.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
I'd say yes. Definitely better than Step bros.

I don't think it was better than Step Bros or Hangover. It is in that league though for sure. Funny, need to see it again to catch the stuff I missed from laughing so hard.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
Saw Prometheus in IMAX 3D. I loved the Alien series and kind of felt this one was good but could have been a little better. The editing just didn't seem to flow very well. It was decent and would recommend it especially if you are a fan of the series. It just didn't wow me like I anticipated. I guess I was expecting something a little "smarter".
