Re: Update: Chris Henry Dies Following Car Accident
It may be easier on everyone when all the facts are gathered and a summation rendered in it's entirety. There will come a time when all the things that have been speculated on will become clear. Unfounded conclusions IMO are not proper at this particular time.

Re: Update: Chris Henry Dies Following Car Accident
My problem with all of this is that there needs to be some rule where injured players cannot just leave their team unexcused. I thought after Sean died, Goodell might make a rule that says all players must travel with the team or stay home in their respective cities. If both Henry and Taylor had stayed with the team or in their team city both might still be alive.

WTF. The dude was sleeping in his house with his family when someone broke in. How can you possibly be doing anything more responsible than that?? Henry made a bad decision to get in the back of a truck during a dispute, and it cost him. But all either of these guys were doing when they died was spending time with their family. Are you seriously suggesting players would be more safe if they didn't spend time with their family? This is just retarded.

No shit Henry made a mistake it cost him his life. It's not the offseason man yeah they're grown adults but they work for their team, and neither called to let anyone know. Before you bitch, think about how either one had made a different choice at their TOD. We know their grown men but Taylor bringing his family to Miami especially when those moromns broke in 2wks earlier and had not been caught wasn't smart. Henry coming to Carolina and then jumping into a moving truck isn't smart. Do you see the similarities? They both left their teams w/o calling them. Damn bro chill, It's a freakin suggestion don't spaz out |

Re: Update: Chris Henry Dies Following Car Accident
Spazzing out is the problem.
We are talking about adults acting like children. All of these terrible situations and few others not mentioned could have easily been avoided if calmer heads had prevailed. Tiger Woods and the Chris Henry situation were confrontations that escalated out of control. Tiger is lucky he did not get hurt more seriously. Rather than two adults walking away from a heated confrontation with each other and waiting until both are calm enough to deal with the situation, instead confrontation that leads to violence takes place and escalates. I think it speaks more to the culture of violence and macho one upsmanship. 'You cheated on me so I am going hit on the head with a golf club.' and potentially kill you. Somewhere along the line a person puts their pride ahead of someones life. |

Re: Update: Chris Henry Dies Following Car Accident
No offense to any of our female members but these women are killing their men! First Mcnair and now this, is some conflict resolution workshops in the future of the NFL?
Someone needs to talk to these guys about what to do in a dispute and how to handle themselves in the right way, granted if my Fiance jumped in the bed of the truck and im driving off I'd slow down and she should have, you can agree or disagree with me if want but She didn't even dial 911 for him. Ugh..am i the only one that thinks that the woman can't really be seen as the victim here? I'm not for beating on Women or anything I just think the media is trying to put a spin on this or a slant if you will that isn't right murder is murder assault is assault! |

Re: Update: Chris Henry Dies Following Car Accident
I think he just went down there to heal and check out the problem, though I might be wrong. Saying should be up to the teams to make a rule is a better idea. I don't think thats "babying" grown men, because it could prevent future deaths like this from happening. I don't think the NBA hasn't had any in season deaths and injured guys still travel with the team I think.

Re: Update: Chris Henry Dies Following Car Accident
The first 911 tape released had a guy calling in because of erractic driving...he saw a pickup swerving all over the road....then he saw Chris in the back, so its obvious she was trying to throw him off...i can't believe people are missing that point. Now that he died, how can that not be homicide, even if it was in self defense?
Chris was beating on the truck she said, on the second tape released...so he wasnt happy but either way, his fiancee is the reason he is dead. facts are facts. He may have tried to kill her once she stopped...but she decided that he was too dangerous to be kept alive...after he was slung out, she didnt even call 911 on him...so that proves she wanted him to die....
