Since the early months of the coronavirus pandemic, Greg Locke, the pastor at a Nashville-area church, has repeatedly called covid a hoax, undermined emergency mandates and refused to comply with guidance from public health officials.

This week, Locke took his defiance a step further, making a sharp warning regarding mask-wearing.

Subscribe to The Post Most newsletter for the most important and interesting stories from The Washington Post.

If "you start showing up [with] all these masks and all this nonsense, I will ask you to leave," Locke, 45, told scores of Global Vision Bible Church parishioners during his sermon on Sunday. His statement was followed by cheers and applause.

"I am not playing these Democrat games up in this church," he added.

Global Vision Bible Church did not immediately respond to The Washington Post's request for comment.

Locke's fiery five-minute diatribe, in which he also denied the existence of the delta variant, comes as vaccination rates in his home state slow and infection rates climb. So far, about 44 percent of Tennesseans have received at least one dose of the vaccine, according to The Post's vaccine tracker, making it among the states with the lowest rate. The state recently reported that 98 percent of people who died of covid and 97 percent of covid hospitalizations are among the unvaccinated.
The media trying to stereotype a section of the county for the delta variant is about as fake news as it’s ever been. Washington Post doesn’t have to go to Tennessee to find people who haven’t taken the vaccine, it could easily just as well stay in Washington DC…come on folks let’s look at the data break down: slide on down to figure 3

https://www.kff.org/coronavirus-covi...ace-ethnicity/

Both the Hispanic and Asian groups outpacing other. Only 44% of white in DC have gotten the vaccine and 33% of black. I’d say the two largest demographic groups in DC. So you really don’t need to go to Tennessee, just walk down the street. Not exactly maga country right?

Oh those pesky facts

Folks the retards are trying to panic people again because of ratings period. CNN ratings have been off a cliff…nobody is watch. None. This is what they are trying to sell..lies

Re: Coronavirus (political)

ORLANDO, Fla. – A day after it recorded the most new daily cases since the start of the pandemic, Florida on Sunday broke a previous record for current hospitalizations set more than a year ago before vaccines were available.

The Sunshine State had 10,207 people hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 cases, according to data reported to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.

The previous record was from July 23, 2020, more than a half-year before vaccinations started becoming widespread, when Florida had 10,170 hospitalizations, according to the Florida Hospital Association.

Florida is now leading the nation in per capita hospitalizations for COVID-19, as hospitals around the state report having to put emergency room visitors in beds in hallways and others document a noticeable drop in the age of patients.

In the past week, Florida has averaged 1,525 adult hospitalizations a day, and 35 daily pediatric hospitalizations. Both are the highest per capita rate in the nation, according to Jason Salemi, an associate professor of epidemiology at the University of South Florida.

Throughout Florida, from Jacksonville to Miami to Tampa, hospitals have become overwhelmed.

Barry Burton, the Pinellas County administrator, told the Tampa Bay Times that some local hospitals are already having to divert ambulances to different locations because of capacity concerns.

There has been a startling rise in the number of children with the virus at hospitals in Miami, many of them requiring intensive care.

"That light did turn out to be a train in this case," Marsha Tittle, a nursing manager at UF Health North, told The Florida Times Union.

The full approval would go far

Those are two totally different cases and it doesn’t matter who is President for God’s sake. Not to mention that the man you are putting up on a pedestal is probably responsible for half, if not more, of the new anti vaxx dipshits. At least Biden isn’t denying it exists for 7 months. Meanwhile Florida is raging with covid. Perhaps you have a meme or a YouTube video to explain why DeShithead is doing such a great job now?

Re: Coronavirus (political)

I've hesitated to wade into this thread because it's political, which is dumb, because nothing about COVID is political. People just want to make it that way.

Acceptance of the vaccine doesn't break down by party lines. It's the smarts vs the dumbs. Educated zip codes with higher household income tend to have 60% vaccination rates or higher. Areas where a lot of uneducated folks live, lower vaccination rates. North Philly, 35% vaccinated. Arkansas, 35% vaccinated. They vote entirely differently but both are poor and both have low education levels.

Funny how the dumbs never seem to help themselves, they often vote against their own interests and won't take a free vaccine when there's a pandemic.

My HVAC guy has been busy the past week or 2, so I haven't had my opinion given to me yet about DeSantis/Florida right now.

Hopefully he calls soon.

Still here. Let me know when any info comes out that his policies, repeat his policies, have been detrimental. Florida having has a low vaccination rate which is causing their disproportionate spike in COIVD, however the idiots not getting a vaccine aren't following his policies. (BTW you never did answer the question - Do you still think Cuomo did a good job with COVID? Or your own governor for that matter? (Both of whose policy decisions lead to massive death increases due to COVID))

Re: Coronavirus (political)

Considering where NY was in the beginning of all this compared to where it is now, how can we the response wasn't an effective one overall? (Yes, the nursing home fiasco was a disaster.)
