Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
I liked Hot Rod, it wasn't bad but it def. looked like a cheap budget film. I also want to see No Country for Old Men, I don't give a shit what reviews people give it because everyone has their own opinion, if it looks interesting then chances are I will see it, and i'm not a harsh critic at all, out of every movie i've seen there were only 5-10 ones that I def. wouldn't watch again lol. I saw Hitman last week, I really liked it, so much in fact that i'd pay to see it again, even though it got horrible reviews. I am Legend also looks like a good movie, i'm probably gonna see that soon as well.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
i didn't really like knocked up.... and i thought superbad couldn't hold a candle to hot rod...
I think it was about expectations.. i had none with hot rod. when the dude was beating on the car motor with a hammer like he was working on it to impress the chick I almost pissed myself...

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
I wasn't expecting much of hotrod to begin with, so it was a nice little suprise. Superbad was good, but I don't think it lived up to it's huge expectations, i thought it was kinda unrealistic too, I've never met a single cop in my lifetime that were as cool as those two were lolol, although it would be pretty cool if i did find one. National Treasure 2 looks pretty good but i'm probably not gonna go see it, i'll just wait 6 months until it's on HBO lol.

No Country is the best film of the year.
I also want to see "There Will Be Blood", PT Anderson's new one with Daniel Day Lewis. |

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
it was eh... It had some cool moments and then there were some others that were just plain stupid. Also the character models for the infected were pretty weak for a movie of this scale. The trailers before the movie on the other hand were awesome with Prince Caspian, 10,000 BC, and most importantly The Dark Knight. Heath Ledger looks to have completely nailed the role of Joker and even got the laugh spot on as well.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
There were some plot elements that you just had to completely overlook common sense/rationality to go along with. Still, it was ok. I did not like the ending all that much, seemed thrown together...

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
I was forced to watch the movie "Enchanted" this weekend with my wife and 3 daughters. They totally enjoyed it. I on the other hand, spent 90 minutes trying to gnaw through my wrists. Sure I earned cool points from my girls, but that movie was horrible in my opinion. Way too much cheesy fairy tale type stuff in it. At least there were two good looking chicks in it. And to think I could have watched Hitman or Legend. Oh well.
On another note, my cousin won Hannah Montana tickets over the radio on Friday. She is going to take my oldest daughter. I am so excited for her, but I cannot tell her because it is a suprise. Slowly but surely my daughters are weakening my manhood shield. I am getting soft. Testosterone help me! |

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
yeah i've got 2 girls and they're young, but I'm with ya. I'm watching girly movies all the time and saying things like "booty-butt" and "go potty" even when Im not around my girls. I told my co-worker I had to tee-tee the other day and he just gave me the wrinkled eyebrows of amazement....

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
Watched "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" on Saturday night, since the wife is a big Harry Potter fan. I've never read the books, but the movies are pretty good, and I'd say this one was the best thus far.
Netflix wise, we have Shooter and Wild Hogs...and of course I've been put on notice to not buy any DVDs until after Christmas...damn my wife and sister, or I'd have Superbad and the 3rd Pirates movie, and would be getting Simpsons tomorrow.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
Has anyone had the chance to watch Idiocracy? Very funny movie that I think had a very limited theatre release before it went to DVD. if you have a chance and want to watch a stupidly funny movie. Fans of satire should enjoy it.
