But if a new GM decides to go a different route I’m ok with that. Ownership should have no say in who our QB is. We lived through countless piss poor QB decisions by Dan, I’m so done with that shit.

Thankfully Harris doesn’t seem to be that type of owner.
Hire the very best GM candidate there is with absolutely no strings attached on personnel moves at any position. Then let him figure the QB situation out. The very last thing we want is any Snyder type meddling. For the love of all that's good in the world, we don't want that!

Also, Howell is practically free for the next 2 years, so even if you did draft another QB, there is no requirement that we can't keep Howell as well.

Having 2 high upside QB's would not be the worst thing in the world. Then if the new guy worked out, you could probably flip Howell for a 1st rounder.

Honestly, if we drafted Stroud and a new regime came in and blew it up based on what they saw I would be okay with it. Would I agree with it? No. Same for me with Sam he is definitely someone that I like, but if the new front office doesn't well okay then.

CJ Stroud was drafted by a GM and a HC who are going to be there next year. That's the difference.

All I'm saying is that anything is on the table with a new GM and HC. And no one in the new regime is going to say, "we're set at QB."

But, as my grandfather used to say, "Don't drop your free bowl of soup..." ;-)

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread

We would pick 10th if the season ended today. Unless we completely fall-apart, I think 5th is our ceiling for how high of a pick we can get.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread

A “rookie” quarterback who is balling out without a stud wr, an oline, or a running game - who is playing on the cheap for the foreseeable future is an absolute selling point for a new GM. Not a decision to make. This talk is crazy and I won’t stand for it anymore. Lol.

If I was the new GM, and the season ended today, Howell would 100% be my QB going into next season. But I don't think I'm going to get the job. However, I definitely want the GM to make the player personnel decisions, not the ownership group. Absolutely no meddling allowed.

I really like this dude. I think he's going to be a stud - Brandon Scherff type of Guard in the NFL.

I hate the trade down lol. We got 9 picks. I think it should be like 5 - 6 in the first 100 picks. Id much rather a better OT (or stud something else)
and forget about one of those guys. What did u get back for trading down?
