Worst defense in the league. Again. Man, the secondary is atrocious.

The Washington Commanders Equipment Manager needs to get his A$$ Kicked HARD or needs to be Fired!
There is NO Reason that Jaden Daniels football helmet should come off TWICE!

Why bother with the 2 pt conversion? Our kicker appears to need practice. Or maybe he’s already left the stadium.

Re: Official New Era - Week 1 vs. Bucs Gameday Thread

A few thoughts on this loss:

* Tampa Bay is a playoff team from last year with a potent offense, so I'm not too mad at this loss.

* I thought Jayden looked okay and showed some good flashes. No turnover todays is a good thing too. He is growing and learning, but I like the majority of what I showed today.

* Kliff needs to stick to the run more and use the combo of B-Rob and Ekeler more often. The next play after the missed deep bomb to Terry should have been a run.

* York needs to be cut today.

* Defense needs to get a kick in the a$$, everyone was off today.

* This is week one, the team needs to learn from their mistakes, and move on.

I can't believe he'd be retained. If he plays one more game we owe the Browns a draft pick.

I'm glad Peters slapped a week 2 instead of a week 1 tag on that trade. No fucking way they keep that bum next week. He's the definition of replaceable.

Is anyone really upset over this result? This should have been expected. Things to be happy about is that Daniels played well and didn't get hurt. Next week is a key game it will show which team is going to get the overall #1 pick in 2026.

I didn't expect our defense to be 11 bitch ass pussies out there. The defense was an embarrassment. The offense was about expected.

Re: Official New Era - Week 1 vs. Bucs Gameday Thread

I’m disappointed that the D seemed so lost. The secondary was really truly bad - shows no appreciable improvement over last season. Still, considering the missed fgs and non extra point, the score probably could have been 27-37 and losing week 1 by 10 to a playoff team isn’t worth panicking over.

I hate that the Cowpukes crushed Cleveland. Giants are a bad team. We need to sweep those bums once and for all.

No excuses- but our team is literally new at everything-keep things in perspective. It was extremely humid and 100 degrees in a playoff teams stadium. They had many promising plays, and yes the kicker should be looking for a job and we need to bring in new kickers today!

This. We need 2 quality DE's and at least 2 CB's to make this D competitive, and probably 2 more OL. Peters could easily have swooped in and picked up 2 or 3 FA's or gone for trades to bolster the D in year one, but we all know that would be mortgaging the future. So we have what we have. Anyone expecting us to come out of the gate firing on all cylinders really doesn't know football. Whole point is seeing how Daniels does and I think he did OK. I'd like to have seen a couple more deep throws and get Scary more involved, but all in all we knew the D would have to step up to win this one and what a surprise, they didn't.

Why would you think our Defense would be much better? We've likely improved the LB positions, but downgraded at DE, corner and safety since a year ago.

Much better? We weren't any better. Actually not better at all. I didn't expect to look no different than 2023. Especially since Quinn is supposed to be a savant coming from Dallas.

I just looked at the box score, #17 = 2 catches for 17 yards. That is absolutely inexcusable.

Re: Official New Era - Week 1 vs. Bucs Gameday Thread

The problem is, and recently always has been, an o-line that cannot pass protect. Guess what, they did not pass protect today, like that have not protected for the past few years. You could have Brady or Favre or Rodgers back there, and they would not fare better. Run blocking was adequate, and should have run the ball more, but with a defense that made ZERO stops until midway through the 2nd half, we are not going to outscore anybody. T-Mac with his worst game ever, kicker sucks, etc. Same old crap, different year.
