Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?

Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?
They were handing out promotions and I got passed over for "specialists" who specialize in hanging out with the boss for 2 hour lunches and putting in 25 hour weeks.
Me? I just am first in, last out and win cases that others lose. Who would want that in a lawyer? I have been bent over and f'd up the ass so many times. I have 20 years of excellent State service and, for the first time, am really thinking hard about leaving it behind.

Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?
I have a feeling it will be full day of Warpathing for me. I think I will read and post until the "specialists" show up. So, I should be good for at least another couple hours ... add in lunch and I am good until about 3:00. Then, of course, it's time to go home to - I kid you not, this an actual quote from one of them - "avoid rush hour". You know how I f'ing avoid rush hour? I work until 6:00 - 6:30.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRGGGHHHHHHH !!!

Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?
Does anyone else have a problem with the quick reply button too? Half the time it doesn't work for me, it's starting to get annoying. I'm on Chrome too.
As far as gears grinding goes, my boss got replaced on Monday by another guy, and I'm having a hard time adjusting. Not only did I carpool with my previous boss on HOV, but in the 8 months I worked for him we never had a problem with each other, and he was always straightforward and very easy to work with (probably because we've known each other for over a decade). But in the 2 1/2 days since my new boss got here, he's spent all his time changing my routine (which imo, didn't need changing at all, since it was streamlined and effective), and not just that, but the manner in which he wants me to do my job feels slower and more time-consuming, which I'm not a fan of. Naturally I'm going to have to adjust, but it's just been tough so far. My job is the one job in the parts department which I felt was not in need of an overhaul. |

Yeah, I don't know what's up with the Quick Reply button (on Firefox)
Deadfish fist bumps. I'm sure we've talked about when some shakes your hand like a dead fish...that's annoying. But the other day someone gave me fist bump that was basically the equivalent. Then he did it again later. Weak sauce

In other news: Our satellite office is in close proximity to our client. They have slowly taken away our ability to manage our site to the point where we can't even order equipment or manage our network without checking with them first. Classic 'tail wagging the dog'. It pisses me off to no end but as I came into the situation after it was established I'm fighting an uphill battle with lots of "That's how we've always done it" BS. JoeRedskin, you're better than that. Don't let them be the reason you're working down to their level. By all means piss in their coffee, cancel their tee times, etc. Fight the power! |

Yes. It's working sporadically today. Sometimes available, sometimes not. Firefox.

Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?
When your office has a all hands meeting and the boss says please ask anything and you do. Then get fire stormed for it.
Apparently don't ask what the roles of new hires are in the office, that is a no no.

Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?
One purchase and they annihilate my screen with sexy legs. Overkill if you ask me. What about all of the PC parts I've just bought and sold!?!?!?
Noooooooooooo...we're going to try to fill this guy's closet with panty hose.
