Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
I would give up this year's first for Carr. Probably be ok with a first and a third this year too. Carr is a capable qb.

You misspelled “backup”. B a c k u p. K b a p s r. S b a r t e. T s r r a t e. S a r t t r e. S t a r t e r. Starter. There, I fixed it for you.

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
I’d give a 1st for Carr but not another pick in the 2021 draft. I’d do a 2021 1st and 2022 4th that could become a 3rd based on performance benchmarks being met.

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
Seems like the options are getting limited. Carr likely not available.
Mariota is mobile... maybe not the long term, but a definite bridge. Is cheap too. |

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
Really there's only one QB that is off the table - Stafford. There are plenty of "options" out there, just have to be smart about what you are willing to part with to make a deal. So far it appears that they are taking the measured approach they said they would, and are asking the questions, but are not willing to give up more than what they perceive the value to be. Thank goodness.
I would overpay for Watson (he's the only one), but the jury is still out on whether or not he is going to hit the trade market. However, I still think they can upgrade the QB position in free agency without giving up assets. There are probably 3-4 free agent QBs who would be an upgrade compared to what was on the field last year. I say let the other QB needy teams fight over Wentz, Carr, Darnold, Bridgewater, Foles, etc. and then when free agency hits they won't have to overpay "as much" for one of those guys. These potential trade targets aren't markedly better than what you can get in free agency in my opinion. |

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
Carr was worth bidding over- not available.
Dak- for sure. Watson is worth a boatload. Stafford was worth a strong offer as well. After them, I lose interest quickly. Who else would give you confidence? Who else? As much as there are many QBs that may be available, the reality seems different. |

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
I’ve dogged him on these boards previously, but after a deeper dive, not terrible career stats:
77 TDs (Alex Smith 199) 45 INTs (Alex Smith 109) 2.5 INT % (Alex Smith 2.1) 62.9 Completion % (Alex Smith 62.6) 89.5 QB Rating (Alex Smith 86.9) 209.9 Yards Per Game (Alex Smith 204.9) He’s basically a younger Alex Smith in the role of Game Manager. He’s also never started a full season, never playing more than 15 games in a season (2016 and 2017) so durability is an issue. I wouldn’t give more than a 5th round pick. Mobility only gets you so far.
