I dont know any quarterback in the league that doesnt get killed on a weekly basis. I watched Tom Brady in the first superbowl against the giants get planted into the ground on the biggest stage like i have never seen anyone get planted into the ground. I watch J Cutler and Michael Vick get Destroyed every time they play practically. I watched Aaron Rodgers get killed tonite and on many occasions. people think because RG3 runs that his hits are worse - i dont know - the worst hit to me that could occur is when your standing in the pocket and get blindsided and that wont happen often with a mobile qb like RG-3. any qb can have his career/season/game ended at any time - RG-3 is at no more a risk than any other qb playing the game today.
He also knows when to throw it away, run out of bounds, and slide for the most part - unlike Mike Vick - that is why Vick gets hurt all the time. Hes a tough kid too - everyone is different - look at Eli - its not like he isnt getting hit hard - hes just a tough kid and has had alot of luck on his side when it comes to the injury bug - we will see how RG-3s body cooperates with him as his career moves on, but as far as being mentally tough enough to handle the hits i think he has already proved he has that.

The positive thing I see, besides RGIII and Rob Jackson stepping up, after tonight's Monday debacle and weekend games a settlement with officials will occur this week ( it has to happen).

London Fletcher being the quarterback of the defense. RG3 operating the offense. Garcon, although he's been out and Alfred Morris bulldozing for chunks of yardage. Rob Jackson, Ryan Kerrigan, and Perry Riley have been playing very hard on defense.

I think there are a lot of positives. Front 7, Alfred Morris, RG3, DHall is playing with a fire.
Cinci is for real. They were in the playoffs last year and don't be surprised to see them win their division.

It was a loss to an AFC team?

Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?

The option play is not sustatinable in the NFL if you want to keep your QB healthy in the least. Yes in the NFL QBs get hit and hit hard all of the time, as a responsible play caller and offensive architect you dont design plays to put your QB in harms way. A play in the NFL is designed to keep the QB upright. The nature of the game doesn't always allow that to happen, however a responsible offensive coach doesn't design plays where the DE or OLB is going to place his helmet squarely in the franchise QB's chest 5 or 6 times a game. That option play in December in the Meadowlands on that turf will be the demise of R. Griffin. If the Shanahans would treat the kid as if he just cast them 2 #1 picks and a #2 they wouldn't design 6 to 8 runs a game, he'll run when plays break down, or as a gadget play on occasion, but what we are seeing is irresponsible and career threatening. Youth and toughness is no reason to invite injury.

Im just curious.. Who made this rule? I enjoy our offense and it works. This is football and RG3 hasnt showed any signs of getting slowed down. People are umder this care bear misconception that the league has put them in. Cant hit the QB in the head, you cant go low, you cant hit him a second late, etc etc...

RG3 is going to be fine, he runs smart and hes actually helped us get a few 15days yarders just from defense frustrations trying to stop him. If he gets hurt, then he gets hurt. He enjoys the offense and is confident. We are finally scoring points and i can finally watch every series because i know im not going to just miss another 3 n out.

Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?

My issue with the offense is this. RG3 is clearly more comfortable running what we are doing right now vs a more traditional type of scheme. Everyone wanted the Shanahans to adjust the system to suit RG3 rather than force him into something, right? So here we are.

Do you risk a drop in production/points to keep him from getting hit? Or do you turn him loose and let him do what he does best?

I don't like seeing him get hit either, but I'm enjoying what he's doing production wise.

Yeah right now our offense keeps us in any game, so don't change anything imo. Yeah the hits are bad but those can be avoided somewhat.

Re: Positives - What Positives You Ask?

I like what they did by putting BB in the backfield. Teams were starting to say screw it, we'll let Morris beat us. But with Banks back there they have to respect his speed and can't just key in on RG3.

LOL Cinci is not winning the division against the Steelers or Ravens, especially the Ravens this year.

Cinci is a mediocre team at best.

That was a great Kyle adjustment. Banks was solid in that roll. Wouldnt mind seeing Helu (if healthy) back there with Alfmo too. Maybe run some screen stuff with Banks in the future out of that look. The multiple possibilities with this scheme.

You called it two years ago
