Sweat's contract is pretty rich. I'm happy for him, but I agree, I would not have wanted us to dole that $$ out for him.

The bears spending that money on him considering their current state would be if you had a Honda civic with a blown motor and only a grand in the bank; you decide to take that grand and buy really fancy rims for your civic; still doesn't run but damn it looks good; stupid

A bit of a transcript from Chase's press conference. Made me chuckle. I know some of y'all will get your panties in a bunch about his comments so don't disappoint me.

One move Marvin who takes large stretches of games off when he is healthy. How about “i need to do better, and stay healthy “.

Go scratch.

Re: Sweat traded to the Bears, Young to the 49ers

I wish the guy well. Was he what we hoped he'd be? No. Did he show the kind of fire and desire to hone a craft that elite players show? No. When healthy, he was a decent player and had moments. We didn't exercise his option and got the value we thought we could. Bygones. I am sure he will be fired up when we play the 49ers later this season.

Sweat was more impactful for us and feels like a bigger loss, although the deal he struck seems rich and one I doubt we would have made at the end of the season. So again, we got some value for a guy that was probably not going to stay here anyway.

Moving on.

I just have the feeling we are going to look back at the Chase deal and wonder why we ever let him go.

I hope that’s not the case but we’ve misused plenty of people in the past. Either way though, gotta move on.

Re: Sweat traded to the Bears, Young to the 49ers

There might be some truth in Chase's comments, and actually I wouldn't be surprised if Chase ends up playing well with 49ers simply because they have defense players who are better than Chase overall.

Something for us to consider: Sweat wrote a thank you statement to the team and fans after he was traded, and did not say any bad things about the team. Chase did not write a thank you statement to the team and/or fans after he was traded, instead he proceeded to say unnecessary things about the team. This alone should give you a better picture of who Sweat and Chase truly are.

he'll prolly set a new single game sack record. Somehow the NFL will help him do this, as well.

Lmao, thats the luck of this franchise.

Re: Sweat traded to the Bears, Young to the 49ers

Chase is all about Chase … Ron is to blame .. WHY would you put all your resources into one position.. NO way any team could keep those First rounders signed .. at some point you gotta spread the money through the ENTIRE team ..We had all this supposed greatness on our D line and yet still were bad as a unit … we never addressed the LB position.. anybody notice Davis chasing RBs and receivers all day against Pats .. WTF ?? We were lucky to win that game .. our LB play is bad .hopefully we draft some help
