I would take a 2nd rounder for him,better than putting the franchise tag on him then letting him walk like Cousins and getting nothing

I would hope for 2 second rounders at least, but it is very much a buyers market and he is only worth what someone is willing to pay, so likely a 3rd maybe 2 if we are lucky

No reason to give him away, we did that with Kirk, Trent, Scherff

@JosinaAnderson
Meanwhile, it is my understanding, that there are several identifiable teams that have both interest in trading for either #Commanders DEs Montez Sweat or Chase Young, AND are willing to offer either a long-term deal ahead of free agency.

Re: Around the NFL Week 7

Time to trade Sweat or Chase and Jonathan Allen. Then sign Sweat or Chase long-term to be on the line w/ Payne.

I think we could probably get some damn good picks for the new GM in 2024.

Note - I still love J.A. but he seems like he might be ready for a fresh start and we still would have Payne on the line. We could draft his replacement with one of those picks and use his salary on other positions.

No mercy trades! We need him so he'll just have to stay and suffer along with the rest of us.

I'd keep Sweat, hes been more consistent.

Trade CY now and get a 3rd for him. Better than letting him walk.

This team isn't making the playoffs so its time to start selling

I'd honestly shop Kurl too

It's more that he's fed up with the current coaching staff and needs to give new ownership a chance. Unfortunately the sale transaction went into pre-season which was too late to clean house by Harris.

I think they should listen to offers, but I feel it has to be extremely strong. 2nd plus another late rounder/pick swap
Josh Harris should not let Abbott and Costello trade anyone without his express approval of the terms of the deal. Penalty = Death!

You get a 3rd if he walks. Why on earth would you give away the second overall pick? The team is not desperate to give away players.

Nobody is giving us a 2 or 1 for him
