Re: MLB thread
So it’s the Yankees fault the Braves dropped 2 of 3 to the Phillies?

Re: MLB thread
It's the Yankees fault they lost 2 of 2 to the Mets. And I resent them for it.

Re: MLB thread
Juan Soto AND Josh Bell traded to the Padres...basically for a whole lot of nothing. Nats are officially the worst team in the league now. 2019 World Series is long gone now.

I hate to say it but it's embarrassing. Traded away our last link to winning the Series 3 years ago. Sure some of those guys might be great someday, but all they are right now is potential. And I'm not sure I have faith in the Nats to develop that potential. The glory days are gone, that's for sure. It's fucking embarrassing that the Lerners have let all of our young talent walk - the only one they managed to retain was Strasburg, who signed at a discount and then renegotiated after the Series win and his contract has been killing us ever since.

Re: MLB thread
The talent the Nats have traded away the last couple years is truly amazing. Maybe it works out for them, but as a fan I'd be really sick watching studs like Turner, Harper, and Soto tearing it up for other teams.

It sucks being in this position but I think the Corbin/Strasburg deals have really screwed us. And guessing the new owner/s want a clean slate - they don't wanna be the bad guys to let Soto walk. Good riddance to the Lerners. S/N - this article by Bos is a good read. I ain't gonna be spending any money going to games any time soon but hopefully brighter days are ahead.

Re: MLB thread
Shohei Ohtani is the greatest baseball player of all time. Possibly the greatest athlete. Imagine his numbers if he was only pitching or hitting and could dedicate 100 percent of his time towards it. Stuck on a shit team or his stats would be more amazing. 28 years old too.

Re: MLB thread
The Mets got in our ass this past weekend.
Great bounce back short-series against the Red Sox. Mini-sweep. And we brought up another rookie, who immediately proceeded to crank one out of the stadium. Looking like Braves will have to go the long way through the WC. But just get to the dance.

Speaking of classics...Just saw a commercial for the A League of Their Own show. Definitely going to have to check that out.

Mets only 5 games behind the Dodgers for best overall record. The Dodgers are just going to be good forever.

Cashman is way past his prime and Boone never had a prime. The team is built to beat up on most teams and lose to the good ones. I will say that since Stanton has been hurt our lineup has been hurt. We need him and Sevy back healthy to have any chance to win it. |
