It's hard being optimistic going forward when the strength of our offense was just ripped out from under us. It's really hard to see Peterson having any room to run with Scherff and Trent sidelined.

Yeah the OL right now is a huge concern. Amazing how quickly things blew up.

Its a mess folks.
I tried saying this would happen when we signed him, they thought he could be a reliable deep threat and he never did shit in Seattle lol. So dumb of a move IMO. He'll be cut in 2 years

Just seems like a bad fit for the offense. Im so sick and fucking tired of this organization and its QB choices.

No one in the front office seems to think it out, all reactive and nothing proactive

You make a fuckboy trade for D McNabb, Shanny and Son never wanted

You trade a ridiculous amount of picks for RG3 who the HC and OC never fucking wanted. They take their guy Cousins later

You don't pay the best QB Danny had in his tenure...

You then trade Fuller (Guess what folks, he's ballin now after a slow start) for Alex Smith and as a topper sign to a ridiculous extension for a 33 year old QB who not even a fit for the offense.

Meanwhile....we've never drafted a young QB to groom...we got nothing on the bench.

FFS..god aweful. Fuck Bruce Allen

They have done a great job building the defense from what it was a few years ago but the offense has been absent, even last yr it was only avg at best.

According to JP Finlay, Scherff’s injury was due to cheap shot by the falcons to the point were Reed was yelling at the falcon bench. I want fucking payback.

Re: Postgame Falcons

I remember going to a Redskin game back in 05. Gibbs really had a good team that year and it was a home game against the 49ers. So I had these seats behind the 49ers bench and watched Smith throw duck after duck after duck in warmups. I never forgot that and could not believe that an NFL QB drafted #1 overall could not spin the ball.

It seems that we cannot do both at the same time. During the Saints/Rams game they talked about how well the Saints have transformed that awful D they had to something formidable while still adding players to the offense to keep it rolling. That must be nice to have.

And seriously a big F you to the front office for the way they handled the left guard position. It's really inexcusable.

Not only the left guard, but the entire depth situation with the interior O line.

I called it offseason. Its been mismanaged from the beginning. They should have spent 1.0-2.5 million for a Vet interior Olineman...they insisted on going with UDFA and garbage off the street that couldn't make other teams.

Luavao single handly cost us the first possession of the game..FFS..You don't get a lot of possessions and our fucking LG cost us 1.

Well it is easy when you have a QB like Brees that will make an opposing team one dimensional on offense. The defense doesn't have to be perfect but you don't want to get into a trade off of TDs vs FGs with NO. A good QB is a great defensive weapon puts too much pressure on the opposing team.

Re: Postgame Falcons

Matt Ryans 4 tds yesterday.

AVG Depth of target = 1 yard
AVG YAC = 31 Yards.

Atlanta started out 8-8 on 3rd down, there is no excuse for that.

Yeah the offense sucks but the defense was laughable yesterday.

That's not particularly true when it came to our DTs. Atlanta was doubling our tackles on many of their running plays. Or, they were running on the edge of our defensive line.

Our ILBs and safeties were doing a poor job filling.

That's it, IMO. People who are gnashing teeth about what this receiver or tight end can't do just need to look at who Smith is as a QB. He's not one to elevate who's around him. He's an okay/steady QB, and if surrounded by the "right" personnel will excel.

Cousins may have thrown more picks by now than Smith, but he'd be able to elevate the play of his personnel.

Yesterday's loss didn't have much of anything to do with Smith. Of course, it's a team game and the offense certainly didn't do enough, but with the penalties, injuries to our O-line, poor play from our ILBs and safeties in the run game (ILBs played poorly in the run and passing game), and the lack of ability to adjust to what's happening in front in them re: Gruden and Manusky, then yesterday is what you got.

You'd get no argument from me on that front. I was just letting the previous poster know that Atlanta wasn't just mauling our DTs. Our tackles were actually doing their job, as far as occupying blockers. Once that happens, then it's the job of the ILBs and safeties to fill and make the play.
