Re: WFT Free Agency Plan

Would it be too much of a gamble/too expensive to pursue Eric Fisher? If he could return to 2020 form it would shore up our LT position, but a torn achilles can be tough to come back from.

If not, then I agree with going after an LB or 2 in FA and stocking up on OL in the draft. But I'd really like to see us pick up Samuel as the #2 receiver. It would give us 2 talented dual threat players (with Gibson); a lot of wrinkles available with the playbook.

Although there's good WR depth in the draft, I'd say that may play into our hands, with other positions we need dropping to us, while others chase the top QB's and WR's.

As far as the FA WR’s, they’re underwhelming. I’m not spending big money on Samuel, Fuller or Golladay. If their $ price is too high, I’d pass and wait until the draft to get one or two in a deep WR class.

Yup...but john Brown and AJ Green taking deals from Raiders and Cardinals removes suitors from better talent.

Cheaper TE route may be Jesse James. Plus blocker, 6'7", not happy that Detroit didnt involve in the offense more.

I know ultimately we have to see it on the field, but it is clear this staff had a solid plan.

They are currently knocking it out of the park.

Arguably the biggest needs entering the offseason: QB, WR, CB, LB, TE, OL

According to NFL.com's rankings of available free agents, they have managed to sign the #2 QB, #3 WR, and #2 CB, while adding one of the better slot receivers and some depth on the O-line and at LB:

Ryan Fitzpatrick
Curtis Samuel
Adam Humphries
Tyler Larsen
William Jackson
David Mayo

Not to mention the list of starters and depth players they have brought back:

Kyle Allen
Taylor Heinicke
Cam Sims
Lamar Miller
Brandon Scherff
Chase Roullier
David Sharpe
Jared Norris
Danny Johnson
Dustin Hopkins

Still work to do but you are right, I think you have to really like what they have done since the season ended.
