Joe Jacoby was a stud and I would take him over Trent. He went against a list of HOF’s and held his own. He should be in the HOF.

Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread

Interesting development...

Washington hired Eugene Shen as its senior vice president of football strategy to oversee all analytics and software development for football operations; he will start Nov. 6 and report to Coach Ron Rivera.

The hire, according to a person with direct knowledge of the matter, was a months-long process that began during training camp, shortly after Harris finalized his $6.05 billion purchase of the Commanders. The final decision, that person said, was discussed and reviewed across football operations, business operations and ownership, and all were aligned.

Shen’s work will span multiple departments, including coaching, personnel and football administration, to collaborate on all strategies for the football operation.

“Bringing Eugene’s level of expertise to lead our analytics and software development enables us to build on our data capabilities to help inform decision-making,” Coach Ron Rivera said in a written statement from the team. “Eugene brings a great deal of practical NFL experience, and we look forward to bringing him into our conversations about the vision of our team going forward.”

I wonder who wrote Rivera's statement for him?

The Original HOGS were one of the Best Oline units in NFL history …. Nothing Washington has done since those days even come close … Trent was a great LT and is one of the best … it’s a damn shame some of the younger Hard core fans may never Experience the thrill of it all …. I can remember every game in that playoff run … wow

Both great. Jacoby did have the luxury of four other great players next to him and a great line coach/ HC scheming. Trent did not. Both definitely HOF’ers

Jacoby wasn’t even drafted vs Williams 4th overall and Trent did have some pretty good lines in the field and off.

Interesting.

Not sure I agree with EB deserving it but tbh I don't care that much, this is a wasted season anyways.

Who the heck is CJ Golson?? With this type of news, I would look to Keim only.

Sweat trade suggests to me Shen's influence. Maybe he's lined up as the next GM, or he's been recommended by the next GM?

You're at like a 7 right now, you need to be at a 3 or so.

Why are you getting excited anyways? Ron stays, Ron goes, we're not winning a title this year which should always be the goal. I'm just passing it on so we can do what we do best on this site, which is discuss the sad state of our team.

The fact that if you have cancer with Trent saying he feared for his life, yet he didn't receive any radiation or chemo makes me suspicious. If he had the type of cancer he had and needed treatment he would have been out at least 2 years not an off-season. The fact that Kyle had a hardon for Trent and hated Snyder, I'm sure he coached him on how to get out of Washington. They fired the medical staff, was given a chance at a fresh start and he wanted none of it and got screwed on the trade.
Radiation and chemo aren't the only forms of treatment for cancer.

My dad had a small hole in the back of his head and it was skin cancer - he had one operation where they blasted layers and layers of skin until the small 1/4" hole turned into a 2" hole and the cancer was eradicated.

My point is we had no idea what it was - all we knew is it could've potentially been a problem. Obviously Trent didn't feel wanted or appreciated so he wanted out. I wish we could've kept him but he was the last in a long line of quality players to feel like this team fucked them. It is what it is.

Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread

Sometimes a guy can shine in a different position. Maybe EB was born to be a HC (we know he wasn't born to be a playcaller). If/when Rivera is fired, let EB take the reins. And let the new GM make the call for next season.
