Because that's impossible of course, i'll stick with ll starting over doughty. It's not even close. I like reed, solid dude and a good special teams/backup, but he's not a starter.
ok.

SS LaRon Landry. He completely blew a coverage on the Bills’ last touchdown pass, a 15-yarder to Scott Chandler in the third quarter. Landry likes to take chances and veer off the script sometimes, but in this case it’s hard to tell why he reacted the way he did. Landry crept up near the line as if he was going to blitz or that he anticipated a run. Chandler ran right past Landry without drawing a glance. By the time Landry realized what was going on it was way too late. London Fletcher had a harsh reaction after the play; just a guess but Fletcher doesn’t go that crazy unless this has been an issue with this defense. Also, didn’t like that Landry wagged his finger at Steve Johnson after one play in which the Bills gained a first down but Landry ended up knocking the receiver to the ground (Johnson was also hit low by those involved in the play). The Bills were leading and had just gained a first down; no wagging. Love the passion he brings, but the timing has to be right.
Thanks for posting this. One of same thoughts I had earlier in this thread.

Laron is a borderline probowl type. My biggest problem is the recent injury issues. Dont want to give him a contract if he cant play at least 14-16 games a year.

To say Reed even close to the talent of LL is an epic fail. Not a comparison, believe me if we cut Reed tomorrow nobody picks his worthless ass up. No one
I hear ya, but lets not anoint Carlos the probowl yet, there's plenty of season left & he has a history of playing very well for stretches but for whatever reason not having a great year throughout.

I wish Los could've re-signed but he had attitude issues over the years & felt he deserved big $. The fact he signed for only 1 yr. says a lot about his value. Ideally I would like to see LL stay & reach his potential, but if he is like Los & demands top $ I think it will be hard to justify paying him that much.

If I'm correct only three teams have given up fewer points then the Skins. Our issues is not our D its our O and their lack of doing anything. I also thought Fletcher was getting into it with D Hall not Laron.

Re: Laron Landry = Lavar?

I once thought of LL as a bust. He's not a bust, but for a 6th (?) overall pick he's a disappointment. 6th overall picks should have the talent and physical ability to be a truly elite player, and Laron only has the physical. He's best described as a poor man's Roy Williams (from the Cowboys) because LL misses the big hit too often and isn't really feared.

i think the main reason for that is the amount of talking they both do. josh wilson has been beat worse than d hall this year but no one really rides him cause he keeps quite, no one rides london if he messes up cause he doesn't run his mouth, same with orakpo and the rest of the team for the most part. if you are gonna talk the talk better walk the walk, and if there is one thing that is definitley undeniable it's that both d hall and landry love to run their f-ing mouths, even after giving up a first down. and for the record i happen to like both of them, just wish they'd quit the ish talking.

I dunno, trash talk has never really bothered me. A lot of guys talk, it's part of their game.

Doesn't bother me either.....that is until they don't back it up.

Is there a "Sean Taylor" effect? Meaning have people set an expectation of we look to LL to be what Sean Taylor was becoming?

I will not pretend to speak for others here but as for me, I had not even thought about this kind of linkage/corrolation until you mentioned it here.

Re: Laron Landry = Lavar?

same here, wasn't thinking of ST either. Interestingly, his first few years he had similar issues w/discipline in coverage & sadly in his final year he'd lost weight & really became the elite safety we knew he could be.

Re: Laron Landry = Lavar?

did not think that either, i do think LL might have hit his ceiling though. each year we keep wanting to see him make that next step to becoming an elite safety, but i just don't see that happening anymore. i think he is still a top safety in the nfl and an asset to this team though.

Re: Laron Landry = Lavar?

I dont know about top safety in the nfl. Maybe top 12. Too one dimensional, gets beat way too often to be considered in the top 5 at his position. Big hitter though, prolly biggest SS hitter in the league. but id take a smart very fast ss over one that ALWAYS goes after the big hit.

Not for me, I mean it's been 4 years, it's time to let it go. After his good start last year I expected him to take the next step since he returned from injury this year, but so far he hasn't.
