There are many more, but this nugget always infuriates me.

I'll make an effort to listen to NPR some time, but the sound of the interviewer/host almost put me to sleep last time.

MSNBC Has Become Almost Entirely Saturated With Opinion, And Fox News Is Doing Much More Factual Reporting

Most people believe it to be the other way around.

Do you have anything to back up this latest assertion of yours?

I do love my NPR. Especially morning edition and science fridays. I am not surprised about bias in the news. All of our media outlets, at least the major ones, are corporations and whether they swing left or right all corporations have an agenda.

Bill O'Reilly GOES CRAZY In EPIC SEGMENT. This Is BULL BLANK. (O'Reilly vs Colmes) - YouTube
Glen Beck was also on CNN/HLN at one point. He may have actually been on CNN for a longer time period than he was on Fox.

The truth is MSNBC is much more opinionated than anyother news source, including the evil Fox News. Something even more telling is this quote:

Quote:
Not coincidentally, MSNBC also spends by far the least producing its news: some $240 million in 2012, according to an estimate by SNL Kagan. CNN spent $682 million, while Fox led the pack with an outlay of $820 million.
Pew Study Finds MSNBC the Most Opinionated Cable News Channel By Far - Forbes

There are a few reasons why Fox is so popular:
Smoking hot news anchors
Extremely high quality journalism and excellent production, compared to competitors
Conservative bias, in a world where ever other media outlet has a liberal bias

Wow, you figured out that O"Reilly is an opinion based show. At least he will bring on guest (as your clip shows) that disagree with him so they can debate the topic. All the opinion shows I see on MSNBC are from the left and the guess are just there to agree with the host. I don't have a problem with MSNBC because they don't hide what they are. Its the big three that come on every night at 6:30 and hide behind the name "NEWS" like its always facts to push their agenda.

I am pretty confident you can understand a graph, but just in case, FoxNews is still over 50% commentary, which means if you turn it on, more than half the time you will be hearing opinions. Citing one or even two shows doesn't really prove anything. The question I have is, now that a "reputable" survey/research company has highlighted MSNBC's extreme level of opinion orientated programming does that change your opinion of them? Or do you discount what Pew research found, because bashing FoxNews is easier and more fun.

Re: Has Anyone Else Completely Lost Faith In The Media?

Also, lets look at the sample size of that graph. The graph looks at each network on 3 days (Mon 11/26, Wed 12/5, Tue 12/18). Far from a definitive source on either side. I'm not familiar with each channel's 'lineup' on those days of the week, but day of the week can greatly skew opinion vs fact.

It doesn't matter which news source it is, I don't consider this poll very reliable. I also am curious what they consider opinion vs fact and how they split the two up. What we should really be concerned about is that 2 out of 3 are more opinion than fact, and the one that has more facts is closer than I'd like.

Its not too hard to look at their line up and see it mostly opinions.

I'm not saying anyone did, but it's also easy to cherry pick days to monitor and days not to monitor to influence a poll. I'd like to see a span of 7 consecutive days, at a minimum, to really get a full picture of any news outlet. As I said, I'm really not trying to get into Fox vs MSNBC vs CNN, just that I don't consider 3 days a significant sample size.
