Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
Perhaps you guys can help. I recently heard how Jupiter is a gasiousl planet. Have heard it's made of mercury and is a gas due to space mercury is a liquid on earth due to is gravity or oxygen or something like that.
It baffles me that Jupiter is a gasious planet and supposedly not solid. Then I'm watching "Ancient Astroids" on the History channel and they were talking about Shoemaker hitting Jupiter. how can anything hit Jupiter if it's a gasious planet? Maybe I'm an idiot, but I'm baffled. If it has a solid core and gas surrounding it I guess I could understand but I keep hearing how it's made of mercury and is a gas due to space. Which to me would mean solids would travel through it without colliding with anything. |

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
Just watched "The Mist" with Thomas Jane. I never read the Stephen King novella, but man, that movie was weak. Maybe there were some hidden metaphors and/or symbols I was missing, but sheesh what a stinker. The ending was just awful as well.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
Really GM ? The Mist was the shit. Of course it was a mind fuck because of the length but it was pretty much about how we can turn on eachother during a time of duress. I mean to be locked in a building with monsters that burst in from time to time ? A religious fanatic starting a cult right there inside based on their fears of immenent death. And the ending ? OMG, that alone was worth the price of admission. I really liked that movie.

Everyone, please see Zombieland. My friend, and native Washingtonian, Ruben directed the film. I can't vouch for it, since I haven't seen it yet, but the reviews are good.
