Totally on the owner, Mark Davis. Firing someone after less than 2 years of a 6 year contract is never great, but at least when it is a college coach or NFL coordinator you can claim that they weren't as good as you thought they were, but McDaniels has a well documented history as a coach so it begs the question "what did you expect to happen when you hired him"

He is the absolute ideal back-up QB. And that's pretty damn impressive and comes with a nice salary. But yeah, you don't want him starting a full-season. Falcons will be in the QB market this off-season.
