Certainly someone with more speed...Robby Anderson or Curtis Samuel would fit that bill. I also prefer someone who is more an outside WR (Anderson, Robinson) than slot guy (Godwin, Golloday). Another reason I see not to spend the super elite money like Robinson will demand and Cooper got last year is offense scheme is spreading the ball around more...Cam Sims, Sims jr, Wright, etc are all getting looks and developing.

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
I'd be pretty damn happy with this draft. I go back and forth on who I like more out of Lance and Wilson. As of now, I like Lance more.
9: R1 P9 - QB Trey Lance - North Dakota State 41: R2 P9 - OT Christian Darrisaw - Virginia Tech 73: R3 P9 - LB Charles Snowden - UVA 77: R3 P13 - LB Dylan Moses - Alabama 111: R4 P9 - S Damar Hamilin - Pittsburgh 150: R5 P9 - TE Chase Allen - Iowa State 231: R7 P9 - WR Shi Smith - South Carolina 239: R7 P17 - TE Jamal Pettigrew - LSU

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
Agreed, based on current sample size he's an unknown. Could be Haskins mk 2 and right now not a high 1st rounder. I'm also a little concerned that he decided to skip the 21 spring season in favour of the draft; I get the logic, but personally I'd want a better body of f work, especially recent, to bring to the table. Not least because his one game played since last season wasn't exactly his best work!
But likewise it's still too early to project anyone especially given the impact of Covid, so... |

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
I'd take Lance over any OSU QBs.
I like the path of building around Smith for a couple years. Devonta Smith, who I mentioned before went INSANE this week. 219 yards and 3 TDs in the first half against LSU. Get him beside Terry.

I’m not sold on fields or lance. Trask or Wilson have me intrigued

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
I watched BYU this weekend but Coastal Carolina hogged the ball all game, so I don't think Wilson was able to get in as good as a rhythm as usual. Still had some impressive throws. They play SDSU next, I'll be watching that one too. Should get more ToP that game. I don't think he is as big as his bio. Looks more like 6'1 or so to me. Not 6'3.

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
Me too. Agree 100%. But when doing a mock draft, you have to pick out of who is available. Not really a way to do a mock draft if you won't pick someone because you don't think it will be realistic at that pick. Some guys go seemingly way too high and visa-versa.

There is no way in hell you draft Lance in the first round. Just no way.

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
Under no circumstances should the front office count on Smith as a starter for next year. He can't make plays out of the pocket like he use to. He isn't anywhere close to where he was in KC. You have to draft his replacement and can't get caught up in the comeback story.
