Re: Fitzmagic Thread
Agree. IMO bringing in Fitz could open the door for top free agent WRs and TEs to want to come here because the ball will be pushed downfield and they can rack up some big numbers. No top WRs or TEs wanted to come here with the offense WFT ran last year.

Re: Fitzmagic Thread
I like it for the same reasons many have stated. IF we pick up a starter quality rookie he's a 1 year rental that can bridge the gap and if we don't then we're in a good place to go after a rookie next year. He instantly gives us more hop of signing quality FA talent too. I now agree with going after Samuel and Everett then drafting for OL. Takes the pressure off the D if we can do that.
I keep looking at him and thinking the beard makes him look 50+ but he's only 38 |

Makes way more sense than forcing a long term solution when there aren't a lot of options, and gives us a chance to: a) be competitive this year b) sign some solid WRs

Re: Fitzmagic Thread
I don't hate it, but it's "meh" for me. They had to add somebody at the position, but I can't get too excited about him. No exciting options out there though, so it is what it is... At least they didn't give up anything to address the position.
Better shore up that defense now though, because they will be tasked with defending short fields all year. This guy throws interceptions at a pretty high clip. |

Re: Fitzmagic Thread
How he fits
Fitzpatrick showed last season that he’s still a gunslinger and is willing to do whatever it takes to win the game (like in Week 16 against the Raiders). He’s hard-working, amenable to what the coaching staff asks and a pro. One can quickly look at the situation in Miami last season when, even though he was hurt by being pulled as the starter, he remained committed to helping rookie Tua Tagovailoa take the reins. When Miami turned back to Fitzpatrick after Tagovailoa was injured, he stepped up. Washington needs someone with that selflessness and ability to coach up its younger quarterbacks. If Washington adds a few more playmakers around Fitzpatrick, fans could see the ball flying all over the field next season. The Athletic

Re: Fitzmagic Thread
Outside of watching highlights of Fitz throwing bombs under pressure and the games against the Skins .. I honestly dont know much about him.
We know he can escape pressure, buy time, throw down field or run for a 1st. Will the OL hold up for him to make the long throws? The suspect OL benefited from the quick scheme ... so now we are asking Lucas to maintain his assignment for 3.5 seconds vs 2.5? ... okay Can we make quick read and throws? Can he control the clock if we are up 2 scores in the 2nd half? if we get behind in the first half, will he press and throw 3 ints? Does he see disguised coverages post snap and change his pre snap thinking? With this defense, do we want a QB who can win and lose us the game ... or do we want a QB that will let the D determine the outcome? Shootout QB + Limited weapons + Suspect LT + Good D = mismatched parts imo |

Re: Fitzmagic Thread
We have three QB’s that can come in on a moments notice and play competently. Like this move. We have three professional QB’s. No Haskins like liability’s on the roster.

Fitzmagic Thread
We also have Kelvin Harmon coming back. And I have a feeling he will play well for us. To be clear, we still need WR help, but the cupboard isn’t bare and the draft class is deep at WR.
I am more worried about CB (after losing Darby who played well), LB (which was weak and got weaker by losing KPL), and LT. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
