i love hip-hop but agree it has largely sucked for the last 10 years or so... (except for the Roots, Mos Def, OutKast, and a few others of course). it's devolved into pop/fashion/danceclub shit. check out the music thread for some recommendations, but Them Crooked Vultures is a great new rock band..... and of course all 3 of Jack White's bands are good.......

Re: F...Justin Bieber
Justin is quite the intellectual...
Justin Bieber doesn’t know what the word ‘German’ means. No, really. « Entertainment

Re: F...Justin Bieber
I think music hit its peak in the 70's and 80's with regards to both pop and rock. I do like grunge, but it's overall theme seemed to be angst or life sucks compared to the rock rock til you drop and party all day of the hair bands. The 90's had some great bands like the Verve, Go Go Dolls, and the Foo Fighters later on, that had some really powerful songs. STP and Pearl Jam were fine in the beginning. Now we are forced to listen to crappy disposable pop like Lady Gaga and this kid. The music of America went to shit when it started to gear almost totally to kids by the mid to late 90's.
