Re: Game planning for Roddy and Julio...
safety touched the ball on the way down. If he was upright thats a pick. Hail Mary.

Re: Game planning for Roddy and Julio...
I agree ATL's a bit overrated (cupcake schedule for the most part), but they still do have a very potent offense. Can't take that away from them.

Re: Game planning for Roddy and Julio...
I could very easily see Atlanta dropping fifty points on us. The only way I can see us slowing them down is to jam the hell out of them at the line to throw off timing, but RW and JJ are so dang strong I don't think our corners and safeties can play that game. I honestly do not see us winning this game. If we are within 7 points of the Falcons I consider that a victory. But, any given Sunday.... The ball bounces the right way, Matt Ryan has a bad day???
I have seen nothing from our secondary to make me think we can complete with these guys. Maybe go back to Tampa 2 defense with the corners playing man up with (2) safeties over the top for support? The front 7 have to play great against the run and the LB'rs have to hit the open holes. Tough game this week guys..... |

Re: Game planning for Roddy and Julio...
I'm pretty sure that atl is watching the tapes on our secondary, while maniacally rubbing their hands together. Our secondary is just beat up, and there are several weapons on atl's offensive side of the ball. They scare me. I wake up in cold sweats. Our offense is very threatening, as well..if they stay on the field, it's much less that our d has to deal with..but I can, unfortunately, see them moving the ball at will whenever they have possesion. I hope I'm not correct at all.

Yeah, that may be true. The defensive secondary will have to play solid at some point. They can't develop a pattern week in and week out where teams are throwing all over them. Wilson and Hall have to be outstanding in coverage sooner or later. And if Atlanta is salivating over the thoughts of outplaying the Redskins secondary let them. Let them get overconfident. That will only play in our secondary's hands... |

Re: Game planning for Roddy and Julio...
I think Wilson and Hall have been good in coverage this year. Its our safety play that is killing us.

Im sure Hasslett and Morris will have something nice and filthy cooked up for the dirty birds. I heard Tonya Harding was spotted at Redskins Park this week.

Re: Game planning for Roddy and Julio...
Garcon and Hankerson just have to keep up. We're not stopping these two. It's going to be a repeat of Jackson and Williams last week...both over 100 yards.
Getting Garcon back in the swing of things will help us keep up, as long as he has those boneheaded personal fouls out of his system. Did he think the replacement refs were still out there?

Maybe not overrated, but they aren't as good as 4-0 might suggest. I just looked up their rankings and was really surprised to see that they're ranked 15th on offense and 15th on defense. Middle of the league on both sides of the ball. I would have thought they had a near-the-top-ranked offense. We're ranked 3rd on offense and 29th on D. We can definitely outscore them and like John Madden said, "I think the team that wins will be the team that scores more points."
