Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Seriously - I think all of our sacks came from the left side today. They need to get their strategy locked in before FA so they can either grab a tackle/guard or both in FA - if you're going QB with the first pick of course. If they decide LT is the pick and they wanna let Howell/FA retread/2-4th round pick duke it out so be it. One way or another we need at least 1-3 o-line starters in FA.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
As long as we address OL in a major way, than I am good with other thoughts. But we won't know that till March, for now OL and QB need to be a priority, along with a DC that has a clue.

I think bears stick with fields or trade out

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
It is? says who? Not what I have heard. Very strong draft class at OL, strong FA class at Edge rusher. FA OL are always over priced due to demand and not many good ones are allowed to hit FA. There are said to be starting quality OTs going to be available in the second round, not Pro Bowlers, so if you go QB in the 1st then one or two OL in the second, or package for trade up, would seem to be the better plan

Honestly, if they take a LT, QB, or Marvin Harrison Jr. I'm going to be happy. Nothing beyond that makes sense - unless they trade out. |

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
IMO I'd rather have Harrison at number 2 than a LT. LT can be addressed in round 2.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
I’d be really surprised if they stick with Fields. 3 years and 38 starts is enough to know he was a bust. He had another in a string of bad games to finish the season

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
To get a true #1 receiver for their QB in Marvin Harrison, Jr? I wouldn't do that but I would be grateful if they would and give us the first choice of all the QB's in the draft.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
I can't see the Bears being sold enough on Fields to pass up on Williams. Fields is decent trade bait too. But yeah, if the Bears think Fields is the man, I guess they could go with Harrison, though I'd say its more likely they'd trade down to maximise value. Trade with us (doubtful we trade out of #2) or Pats (to guarantee their new QB), and they could still get Harrison @ #3 plus have more picks to spare. They are after all missing the 2nd round pick they gave us.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
To me, this is simple:
Either Maye or Williams (in that order). No trade-downs, no nonsense. Get one or the other. Don't over-think it. Edit: I would also not take Penix anywhere in the first round. Massive injury concerns, particularly the shoulder.
