Look how fast the PHL coordinators were snatched up.

But lets be honest EB and Greg R are probably about the best we are going to do
Are they bad options though?

I'd definitely take either one over Scott Turner.

Either way it's not going to matter much until the QB issue is solved.

I don't know where you get the 2 more wins. That's nothing more than pure speculation.

He's only 31 so age isn't a factor.

He's not my first choice, but he's not a hard pass either. He has to be considered, and they did inquire about him last year, so the interest is (was) there. But if bringing him in means they would be unable to make other necessary upgrades, especially the O-line, then it wouldn't be too smart.

Yeah Id like to see him here. Not like I really know any other candidates anyway.

He's seen what it takes to win and if he even just brings that, thats a plus.

EB .. I guess the thinking would be getting in this year sets you up as the no. 1 candidate as HC with new ownership when Rons let go or contract expires. If I was him, I wouldnt come here.

People come here clean, leave tarnished.

He won them with Andy Reid and Patrick Mahommes. The best offensive coach and quarterback in the game. There is definitely a thought of how much does EB have to do with this?
It is a reasonable question.

EB needs to prove that he can run a strong offense without Reid and Mahommes. No better place than here to prove you can turn an offense around.

Reid said himself the guy needs to go run his own show.

It is not a reasonable question when you have teams hiring DCs, ST coordinators, etc., etc. as HC.

Again, I keep bringing up McDaniels as an example of a HC who worked under a great coach/QB option who got many time overs opportunities to become a HC (and he's already failed at it once). Also, there is an entire history of Belichick tree coaches who have failed as HCs.

what would be a reasonable question then?

this is confusing

I probably didn't phrase that well. I feel like there are questions about EB that are not being asked when other coordinators/assistants that have been hired as head coaches.

And I feel like he has been involved in a successful organization for far too long for people to still have questions.

Look at every coach in the Belichick tree that has been hired solely for the reputation of being involved in a successful franchise. Yes, a lot of them have failed, but I feel like no one ever said "well he was successful because he worked under a great coach with a great QB." And this includes his DCs, given that BB is seen as a defensive-minded HC.

Unless EB goes and punches everyone in the face, and pisses and sh*ts himself during interviews, I don't get how he cannot get a job with the success he's had as an OC. And why there are a million questions/excuses as to why he's not a HC.

McDaniels is a perfect example of what im saying. Lol. Clearly the Pats success had nothing to do with him.
Is it fair to EB that he didn’t get a shot and McDaniels did? Nope. But it is reasonable to ask how much success is attributed to EB when it comes to the Chiefs. Also Reid is an offensive guy. BB is defense. So with EB it is well he has a great quarterback and HC. With McDaniels it was just the quarterback.

For the record i think EB deserves a shot. Im just throwing out reasons why teams may wonder and they might be thinking who couldn’t be a successful OC with Mahommes and Reid…

Don't forget, McDaniels got a shot at being a HC, failed miserably, and then he got two additional opportunities (he turned down the Colts at the last minute before Reich became HC).

I'll be happy with EB as our OC, other teams' losses can be our gain.

McDaniels should never have gotten another shot. And me too!

I gotta be honest, the gap between 1 and #2/3 is so big it makes me wonder how we ended up here.

If he does offer EB the job that's a hell of a risky transfer for EB - he could be looking at being on the street in a year or less if Ron can't get us out of mediocrity.

that is a glass half empty look

half full: EB could be the replacement for RR if he performs well
