Re: Let's talk good beer
i had a dream last night that i was at a beer store and saw a 4 pack from russian river.
i got really excited thinking how in the hell does this store in Md carry it. i concluded they must buy it second-hand from a place up in philly and probably pay a premium ... i then grabbed it and realized it wasnt an IPA but just their ale and then i stood there debating whether to get it or not. on one hand i want to try russian river but on the other hand it was just an ale ... i was leaning towards getting it and then i woke up. im pretty disappointed my fridge only had the truth sitting in there this morning. |

Re: Let's talk good beer
Bourbon production reaches its highest point since 1970s | savannahnow.com
bourbon sales are going crazy. I dont know about anybody else, but when i hit the abc store its right to the Whiskey, bourbon section. I might every now and then get a dark rum or tequila if im in that beachy mode, but im usually looking at about 5 different burbon or tennessee whisky and grabbing whats on sale between them. probably trying a couple new burbons yearly too to change it up too. Hopefully with increase production and higher inventories we can see a lil price drop. Noticed the increase in price the last couple years...

Re: Let's talk good beer
ballast point ipa - damn good beer. got a sixer from dockside discount warehouse on fleet st for $9.99. i think im starting to get out of my hop head addiction which is nice. i can appreciate regular IPAs now. i dont need to drink strictly hop heavy beer.
sierra nevada torpedo - i normally dont buy domestic beers but the liquor store around the corner(with its bullet proof glass and all the other lovely trimmings that come with my neighborhood) has a very limited selection. i liked it more than i anticipated. food spot - honey pig in ellicott city is a must try for anyone in the area. they also have locations in frederick, VA and another location. awesome amazing korean BBQ, fun environment, my 2 yr old loved it. |

Re: Let's talk good beer
devils backbone eight point IPA - okay. wouldnt buy it again but thats my personal preference. 3/5
public works knuckle buster ipa - disappointing. a lot of fruit hints to it, tasted like a magic hat #9 which im not a fan of. i dont think it should be labeled an IPA. 2/5 lesson learned - when you are buying 2 six packs, dont make both of them experiments w beer you have never tried or heard of. i still got 6 more of the these less than satisfying bastards sitting in my fridge. |

Re: Let's talk good beer
^ I hear ya, I try to only experiment with a make your own six pack, otherwise you can get stuck either drinking stuff you don't like or dumping them out
