Hey, mlmpetert why not take the balance of that money for the bus signs and save it and if Bruce Allen looks like crap we can just switch the names from "Vinny" To "Allen".

I think that DT summed things up well:

"Nothing really surprises me around here," Thomas said. "It is kind of awkward, definitely, when the guy that brought you in leaves like this. He's a guy who knows what we're capable of, and was real supportive of us playing well, so it's tough to see this. But you know, people have been wishing this for a long time. Maybe it's just like people getting what they wished for. I guess you just really have to wait for the smoke to clear to see what happened and what's really going on around here."

Jaws was supportive of it, but also curious about the autonomy.

The one thing that gives me pause, is the team is playing better, he is big on "team", if he feels from discussions/interactions/gut feelings, that the team is playing hard for Zorn, I could see him given one more year to finish out his contract. Again the lack of playcalling is a big conditional factor for Zorn staying.

This has been added to the story that you linked a bit ago about Allen taking the helm. The station here cut off of the press conf during the questions so I didn't hear this part, not that anything is surprising.

Quote:
Snyder: Bruce has the authority. When Bruce madkes the decision, it's a Redskins decision.

Snyder on Vinny Cerrato and whether he was offered a lesser position in the organization: "The best way to put it is it was time for a change."
Snyder and Allen would not directly address reports about Mike Shanahan being the leading candidate for the head-coaching job; Snyder indicated that a decision about Zorn's future will be made by Allen. Snyder indicated that the Redskins interviewed several candidates for the GM job.

That would be the one reservation in the matter indeed. However, a team guy or not you have to win, which wasn't happening. Character only takes you so far.

President Joe Gibbs, EVP/GM Bruce Allen, Director of Personnel Doug Williams, HC Todd Bowles? Just saying...

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Cerrato resigns (Bruce Allen hired as VP/GM) - merged

I will say that Allen wouldnt've been my first choice for GM, but from what people like Bethard, Jaws, and Marty are saying about him makes me feel a little better. The key is that we give Allen as much time as we gave Vinny (a decade) and then we judge Allen's personel moves but I'm not going to full out say he's the wrong guy because he might be a pretty damn good GM.

A character in Snatch said, "Don't piss in my bucket and tell me its raining." By all apperanaces, that's exactly whats happening here. Snyder fired one yes-man and hired another. Allen has never been a "real" GM before. He's only been a yes man. If Snyder wanted a real GM, he wouldnt have hired Allen. Snyder has lead a dysfunctional franchise for so long, he doesn't deserve us to suddenly beleive he has changed now. He doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt.

Time will tell, but i'm remaining skeptical until proven otherwise.
How can you say Allen is not a real GM? Allen has respect around the league and has been the GM on 2 different teams. He is not a yes man.

What is Clark Judge smoking? Or is he a Vinny's butt buddy?
