I'm not giving up on Dotson but with a good qb and a good coordinator this is a make or break year for him. Another underwhelming year and it makes it easier to move on. I remember day one when he said he walks around with a ball so he never drops passes - last year he dropped too many passes for my liking too. If he can't figure it out by his 3rd year at some point we'll have to move on. But I'm not quite there yet.

Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
Does anyone here know if the Commanders have shown any interest in Stephon Gilmore? He had a very good 2023 season and he could step right in to the defensive system here. Nice one year deal, anyone?

Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
I've not heard anything concrete. Just that he's open to running it back with Dallas, and the Chiefs had interest. My guess is a lot of teams have interest, but he has the luxury of not having to be in a hurry to sign anywhere. Could wait until a team is desperate due to injuries. But if he were to come here, he could be a late addition since he is familiar with the system/coaches. He would instantly make the defense better.

This could be interesting
Jamin Davis working with Ryan Kerrigan as he prepares to “hunt some quarterbacks” this season |

Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
Will be interesting to see what happens at TE. Ertz and Sinnott are locks, but then there’s Bates, Turner and Rodgers. Bates is a very good blocker but not much of a receiving threat. I’m sure they’ll keep 3 and probably 4.

Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
I would keep Bates for blocking alone which he's great at, especially if the oline doesn't look great in camp. He can catch some also. I think Turner and Rodgers will be out. Give me Ertz, Sinnott, and Bates and let's roll!

Short but nice interview with McLaurin by ESPN. There are a few interesting nuggets in the interview that shows the differences between Rivera's staff and Quinn's.

Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
Hearing Jordan Magee looking impressive. So much so that Standig is inferring that Jamin Davis may be cut. Hard to believe but interesting nonetheless, especially with a new regime.

Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
The thought of cutting Davis never crossed my mind, but now the more I think about it, the more I can see it being a possibility. The fact that Davis is now mostly focusing on learning how to do pass rush instead of doing both pass rush and LB could be a hint that the coaches do not see Davis as a legitimate LB.

Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
I’d be curious to see what he can do with better coaching. He’s a very athletic guy and who knows what his ceiling is and whether he’s hit it? But trust this coaching staff more to figure that out.
