Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
That makes too much sense and most here will bitch about it. People forget we won with Doug Williams and Mark Rypien, they had their great moments but overall were slightly above average.

The first 5 or 6 players taken will be impact players.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Assuming both us and the Patriots lose out and finish 4-13, it is possible for the Patriots to jump back ahead of us to No. 3 depending on how other games go. Here's an article from the Patriot's POV. Assuming, we basically want to root for every team they are rooting against:
https://www.si.com/nfl/patriots/news...oogle_vignette Note - Patriots play the Jets at home in Week 18. I hope they make all the scoreboard watching moot, and just win that game.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
At this moment before the late games the Pats are back ahead of us. They have pick #2 we're at #3. Need the Chiefs and Chargers to win.

Not to mention we traded down and passed on JJ Watt and then recently traded down and passed up on Kyle Hamilton and Chris Olave They are gonna sit at pick 2 or 3 and take their QB.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
That would absolutely surprise me and be the worst idea when you need a QB and two are potentially starring you right in the face.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
We currently have same SOS. The second tie breaker is division record which they are 2-3 so we still have #2. Don't forget the Steelers we want them to win too.

Let's hope they can be smart and give us more chances. The draft is a crap shoot as it is so the more chances you have at it, the better the outcome will be. Still need good talent evaluators and coaches that get players to fit their system. If we do some dumbshit like move up in the draft, we'll be fucked for another decade at least.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Personally I think that if they like a Quarterback there they should take him, but if not trade back 3 picks and take a tackle. I wont be mad either way as long as the GM is doing what he thinks is best, it will be difficult to judge for a couple of years whether the GM actually knows what he is doing.... I do hate the idea of trading up, there is such a talent deficit on this roster I think we need all of the picks we can lay our hands on rather than dropping a superstar QB into a shitstorm and ruining him after 2 years and being back where we started
