Re: Should Billy Cundiff still be cut!

I don't see arrogance in sticking with Cundiff. Is it really good football sense to cut your kicker when there aren't any better options out there? What do you do... bring back Gano and cut him when he goes 1/4?

That press conference was hilarious. Rex looks funny as hell when he is pissed. Had a buddy (big Patroits fan and from Boston) get to talk to him one-on-one at a fund raiser in NYC 2 years ago. Said Rex is just a normal dude, completely approachable and they laughed for like 30 mins.

I really want Rex to get fired so he can be our next D coord. I am sure the media would love the Ryan vs. Ryan story when we play the Cowpukes.

I dont see why people are still giving love to Gano {not you} but Rackers cant get any?
From everything I read in preseason and training camp,Rackers was outkicking Gano, but then they cut Rackers?
Looking at fg percentage,Rackers is clearly above the other 2,especially over the last 3 yrs

Re: Should Billy Cundiff still be cut!

he's either a little better or just as crappy as gano. if we're firing him, we need to bring in a GOOD kicker, not just replacement trash - that won't help us. there isn't an upgrade sitting at home right now, just more of the same.

Re: Should Billy Cundiff still be cut!

Has anyone even tried returning a kick on us this frikkin year? Cundiff is our best defensive ST player. That has a huge value. The guy obviously has some leg, kicking it into the stands on kickoffs. I say give him another chance. He has only really missed 2 FG's this year, and he DID make a game winner that was over 40 yards. He'll be just fine, and I'm sure he is still an upgrade after gano. That guy was just trash. Just because he was young and the skins brought him in, alot of Redskins fans have loyalty to him, ie wanting him to succeed so bad they overlook his shittiness. Even with the two misses, Cundiff is still better than gano.

That about sums it up.

I wouldn't complain if we started going for it on 4th down as long as we're at the 50 yard line or better.

Good point. Gano's kickoffs to row 4 (behind the players bench) we're infuriating.

This, all season long. When I resign myself to accepting Shanny will be here for 5 years, replacing Haslett is a must.

4th down and 4 or less anywhere on the field should be spread formation with the RG3 QB shotgun sneak everytime. Like he does near the endzone. Other than getting tackled and fumbling the one time, that play gets the neccessary yardage everytime.

what is this "easy" way to correct the mistake? Does David Akers have a more talented twin brother living in Shanny's basement that we don't know about?

Re: Should Billy Cundiff still be cut!

No one was bitching when he made all 4 against the Saints. Not sure why he can put the kick offs out of the endzone but can't make a long FG.
