Re: Moss traded to Raiders

Fine. You like EJ Henderson. I don't. Maybe the Skins should trade for him if Pierce leaves? I hope not!!!

There are 32 starting MLBs in the NFL - assuming that you pick one of the inside linebackers from a 3-4 team and equate him to a MLB. EJ Henderson is somewhere around 25th on that list by my count. He is even worse covering pass routes than Trotter and Trotter can't cover a corpse.

Absolutely. You think Norv wanted Moss? Hell no. Randy Moss and Al Davis were meant to be together. Match made in heaven.

Re: Moss traded to Raiders

This is true. I definitely agree he isn't an elite MLB by any means. But he is only 24 and hes had injury problems thus far. He has a great deal of potential. But you are right, he's not a top-end MLB.

I think more to the point is that they have much more pressing needs than MLB. I think we can both agree on that, can't we SC? I just don't see why they would do this trade. They must have wanted to get rid of Moss ASAP.

I bet you that Belt buckle Danny was pissed to find out that the Vikings got rid of him and really didn't ask for that much. The skins could've easily made that trade.

But I'm glad they didn't.

I can see Danny jumping around in a Little Man Syndrome fit right now.

Good luck with him Norv.
This is probably a stretch, but could the #7 be had for Coles?

I don't think so because if it could happen it would find a way to bite us in the ass. Besides the Coles type receiver is not the type of receiver that would replace a Rany Moss type.

Re: Moss traded to Raiders

An interesting thought Smootsmack...I don't think it would happen, but lets imagine it did...Who would the Skins select?

I think they would take Williams at number 7 and either Erasmus James or Shawne Merriman at number 9. I really think those two are the only ones who stand out as excellent pass rushers at DE. Of course, if Smoot leaves, Rolle or Pac-Man could be a possibility too. Anyone with any other thoughts?

Maybe Minnesota would give up their 2nd rounder for coles.

Re: Moss traded to Raiders

Merriman is fit for the 3-4 scheme as a blitzing LB. Isn't the consensus he doens't have the size to play the typical DE role?

Re: Moss traded to Raiders

I really feel like the Raiders got a deal on Moss.. I see them drafting defense. Just do. They have great RBs, a good line, a good QB, and two adequate starting WRs. Just get some defense and they'll be okay!

Re: Moss traded to Raiders

This is Bullshit, I just as big of Redskin fan than any other good blooded redskin, but should we care about having all core guys, I mean Randy Moss makes a team a Playoff team every year, He'll tell me we couldn't have gotten Randy Moss, for and peep this guys, tell me this wouldn't have worked, Pierce, Garner, and Smoot, Keep out First Rounder and give draft, Williams, with this all Minnesota have to do with the 7th pick is...............Get Mike Williams.....this is bad for our draft chances of getting an impact player like williams..........this sucks

Re: Moss traded to Raiders

I said it in another thread, don't count on the Vikings taking a WR with that #7 pick, they still need plenty of defensive help and they seem pretty happy with the emergence of Burleson.

Even if Williams and Edwards are gone before #9, I can't see Williamson also being off the board.

Re: Moss traded to Raiders

wewhite - I also think we could have given MN a better deal for Moss. I think we could have kept our first round pick - or traded with them. As long as we gave them another pick.
