I think Sean Penn definitely has found his calling as a director. Into the Wild was a fine film, for sure. I did get a bit upset at the guy's lack of preparation for certain aspects of his new surroundings... but that's what makes the story so powerful- the range of emotions, as you said. |

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
I watched The Man from Earth last night. Great low-budget (really, really, low budget) flick.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
Saw The Strangers on Friday.
Save the $10. Not even worth the R rating... People in the theater talked throughout the whole movie and thats pretty much what made it entertaining. My advice: Wait till it they start playing it on cable.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
For those a bit twisted, rent the unrated version of "Inside." It's a new French horror flick... just watched it and I still can't believe what I just saw (don't even read the reviews on it- some contain spoilers in the headings).

I just saw 3:10 to Yuma the other night. It was a pretty good movie.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
Netflixed "Ocean's Thirteen" and watched it yesterday. It was good in a cheesy Vegas kind of way. Definitely a lot less realistic than the other 2 (even though they weren't very realistic to begin with), but if you can look past that, it's a pretty good flick.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
Was Oceans Thirteen better than Twelve?
I just watched Twelve the other night and I really struggled to get through it. |
