Re: I get this when I try to reply
If I may be so bold as to speak to this issue, I think all Matty is saying is that the News Wire section was never intended as a discussion forum, therefore its sole purpose is for individual posts of news articles so that members may quickly and easily find the latest Redskins news without having to sift through other readers' responses to the article.
The Locker Room is where you would go to discuss the news of the day. That's the way it's always been. Matty wasn't trying to censor or edit anyone's posts. SBF, you're a longtime member here, and we respect your opinion. We don't have any reason to start a beef with you, we just want everyone to post their thoughts in the appropriate forum. Now let's all hug and go back to bitching about Sean Taylor. |

Re: I get this when I try to reply
The news wire forum is a one and done kinda thing like what Joe said earlier. It is to be used as a reference, not for discussion.
If discussion was allowed in that 'forum', then the order of the news would be jumbled up every time someone posted a new post to a thread. The news wire has always been handled this way. If there is a new topic that you wish to discuss, the easiest thing to do would be to post it in the news wire forum where it could be seen, and then post it again in the locker room forum, where it could be discussed.

now that i know that no replys can be made in the news wire forum sbf and myself have had our question answered. nobody said anything about difficulty. i just think it's silly to have a forum were you post news but don't discuss it in the same forum, people wouldn't have to sift through all the posts to find out what the news was, all they would have to do is read the very first post that has the link. |

Re: I get this when I try to reply
cpayne you explained it perfectly.
thank you. And for those that still can't figure it out, I'm sorry but there's not much else left to say. It's all for the look and practicality of the home page. |

Re: I get this when I try to reply
oh, believe you me, it's figured out. i can understand it being for the look of the homepage but not for the practicality. theres nothing practical about posting the same news in two separate forums. the practical way would be to post it with a link and then discuss it. people get off topic all the time in various threads. if a new person was to join in the discussion and was confused because the "headline" reads "ramsey looking good" but the last couple of posts are about apple pie vs. cherry pie , all he/she would have to do is go to and read the first post, which contains the link.
but this is just my thinking, it's possible that i'm wrong with this line of thinking. am i ? |
