Re: Washington Wizards 2011-2012 Ongoing Thread
I would send our 6th and Blanche in a heartbeat. This is one of the type of players we need. Physical and an effing banger inside. Strong defensively who can net 15-16 pts. I think this guy would help the development of Javale McGee. Would be a good combo inside. I didnt like him playing so high in the playoffs, but when he is around the basketball he the type of player that demands attention on both ends of the court from the other team. Josh Smith wont come here, but he is the type of player we need.

Good. As much as I would like the number 2 pick McGee should be off limits unless of course an absurd trade offer comes along.

T-wolves are now telling teams they're taking Kanter... may be a smoke screen to drum up their asking price with us. Kanter is a better fit for them, however... they don't need a PG and are pretty anchored at the forward slots.

They already had trouble with one D. Williams. Why would they want another one?

Crazy timing. Was it last year when Paul Allen fired the Blazers GM on the eve of the draft?

Re: Washington Wizards 2011-2012 Ongoing Thread
Yup. It's funny, in NFL circles Paul Allen is known as a very hands-off, great to work for owner. But in NBA circles he's one of the least liked. Considered impulsive, micromanaging, gets too involved in personnel decisions.

Latest rumors have Utah taking Kanter at 3... not sure if they like Brandon Knight's style of play (although personally, I like him more than Irving). Then they can take their hometown boy at 12. Looking more and more like Vesely to DC (boo). |

Re: Washington Wizards 2011-2012 Ongoing Thread
I'm thinking Minny's just messing with Washington. Reports are Williams was pretty ridiculous in individual workouts and they're willing to take the talent over need (even with teams not interested in Beasley).

Re: Washington Wizards 2011-2012 Ongoing Thread
Screw coming to America. If thats the atmosphere in Europe I think I would rather play in Europe. Most of the NBA is empty arenas. By the by, this is a great break down.
I can see why they like him. A 6'11 guy that moves like a 6'7 6'8 guy and plays with energy is an intriguing combination. No team would be able to go small against the Wiz with him and McGee on the floor. Also looks like he has the potential to develop a shot. At the very least he's going to run the floor with Wall on the fast break.

Draft is going to get pretty interesting after Minnesota at 2. Could see a lot of trades.
