Re: Who will lead Washington in sacks this coming year?
That's not nice. We're talking about getting sacks, not taking them. So far, we have "won" the off-season and we're still in the overly optimistic phase. Can we all just get high on the Kool Aid and be happy for a little while longer? Please be kind and humor those of us who chugging pitchers of it.

Who will lead Washington in sacks this coming year?
Bold prediction. Jayden Daniels will lead the league in Passing yards, running yards, and sacks(getting, not taking). You watch. Dude can do it all!

Dominique Hampton has been getting reps with the first team defense at Safety and OLB. He may get some sacks, as well.

I just don't know cause the entire front 7 is just so so. Just how I see it. There really isn't anyone that you can say that an offense has to worry about. And please don't tell me Payne and Allen. After Payne got paid we haven't seen that much. I'd probably give it to Luvu by default.

20 sacks in 6 years? How do you figure? I'm guessing Luvu is a nice player but one that is replaceable. I'm always skeptical if the absolute worst team in the league that isn't paying a Qb didn't want to pay him.

Given the Panthers owner, I'd say the odds of them making an actual smart decision is slim to none.

Apparently they did, but he wanted to come and play for Quinn.

I'm not knocking Luvu, like I said I'm sure he's a pretty good player. But is he a Parsons type of guy? No. If we want that type of player we're most likely going to have to draft him.

Dorance Armstrong. Sneaky good get by DQ & Co. He will benefit from the rotation of Payne/Allen/Mathis/Newton.
Honestly, I understand some think the front 7 is just "so so", but call me crazy - we actually have LBs now and with the non-production we got from CY, I feel like the front 7 is better - on paper. |

It was my understanding that Newton won't be available to begin the season, so Mathis may have gotten a break, until he gets hurt again, or whatever. I guess that we have the Vanilla Gorilla waiting in the wings ...

Injuries are part of the game. He's had a couple unfortunate ones that have derailed his young NFL career, but he should be back healthy this year. No reason he wouldn't make the final 53 unless he turns out to be the unluckiest m'fer and gets injured again. I like the idea of Payne/Allen/Mathis/Newton/and Ridgeway in the middle providing they are all healthy, especially with the new LB corps. |

Re: Who will lead Washington in sacks this coming year?
No such thing as too nasty up front. But Mathis was just a horrendous Rivera pick. Mathis was even confused by being picked in the 2nd round. Rivera was incompetent. Terrible HC, worse GM.
