The secondary need to step up big time. It's starting to look like Higgins might play the game, which will be huge for Bengals.
The wide receivers needing to step up seems to be a common theme. After looking at some all-22 film shot from behind the QB, I don't think that WR improvement is the primary thing needed for our passing game to improve. They have been consistently getting open on crossing routes but Jayden Daniels has hesitated to throw the ball when they are "NFL open", meaning gaining separation. This is normal for a developing NFL QB. Jayden is learning his trade. In time, he will anticipate his receivers coming open and complete more passes to them.

Yeah, you are right. After seeing your post, I went on youtube and found The QB School channel that has nice breakdown on JD's Giants game and it shows he missed multiple open WRs. I agree with you, with a lot of people raving about JD's film study habits, I expect to see him improve in this area later in the season.

Thanks for saying I was right about something. I'm married so I don't hear that very often. The tape I watched was of the Bucs game. Same story for both games. I think he'll gain more confidence soon and improve dramatically.

They've been holding the playbook back to let JD ease into things and they targeted this game as JDs coming out party. He will shine bright on Monday night! Will lead all rookies in jersey sales after Monday.

Unfortunately the Defense is going to give up 500 yards passing so we still lose.
Dang, you had me going for a minute, got my blood pumping...only to let me down at the end.

I have a terrible feeling about this game. Please let me be pleasantly surprised when it is over.

Expecting anything but a loss tonight is crazy. This is the definition of a prepare for the worst, hope for the best scenario.

Game will be difficult but not impossible. Cincy needs this game worse than we do. Eager to see how JD plays on the road next 2 games, especially in primetime tonight.

HTTC!

I had this as a loss coming into the season and have no reason to change my mind at this point. Nothing will be surprising though as far as a result goes. The Bengals are 0-2, so if they lose I won't be surprised. Washington has a new everything and is going against a much more "seasoned" team, so if they lose I won't be surprised.

I just want to see the team compete in all three phases, and come out on the other side as healthy as they were when the game started.

This is the game to take some deep shots. It is one JD's strengths and could be super helpful tonight. I haven't seen as many as I'd like so far this year from him. Hope KK dials it up.

I feel the same way as you do about the deep shots. KK and DQ had better watch out before they get on my bad side.

Forrest a healthy scratch? Will be interested to see if Davis can generate some pressure. We are going to need it.

McLaurin and Dyami Brown would be the guys for this. Would be a perfect game for Dyami Brown to breakout along with Daniel's deep passing.

Go Commanders!

Re: Pre MNF Vs Bengals Thread

WAS is averaging about 5.5 yards per rush, CIN is giving up about 4.5 yards per rush. Let's not overthink this, KK. And yes, if they can establish the ground game, then I hope they take some deep shots off play action.

No stupid penalties and getting more TDs than FGs when (if) they get into the RZ would equal improvement, though.

Should be a fun game, regardless... no expectations.

I'm also rooting for Washington for survivor pool purposes

It looks like a ton of people picked the Bengals, just like a ton of people picked Tampa and LV this weekend...
