Don't get me started.

OTM - While far from a city wide riot, the violence was not particularly localized. It started in west Baltimore and moved done a corridor to downtown.

I'm in central Baltimore - about 3 miles from central Baltimore and 2 miles from where the problem started.

I'm wondering if they're going to try to run amok again today or if they're going to be put off by the Guard being there.

I'm also wondering if I'm going to be out of an entire week of pay due to these kids blowing off steam since I work dead center in West Baltimore.

Re: Baltimore riots

dang, my lady just said that some stores a few blocks from us are boarding themselves up bc they were in fact looted last night. Caroline liquor being one of them. I like caroline liquor, one of the few places that sell on sunday, open at 6 am until 2 am. they sell good craft beer to - big selection of laguinitas, etc. nice husband and wife own it and work the cash register. hope they got out before the looters got in.

i dont know why this hasnt been reported. i cant find anything on line about it. i would think looting in fells point would be big news.

^^ i did find some confirmation. this doesnt look like caroline but one of the many other hispanic liqour stores.

I heard about looting in Fells Point but no one substantiated it.

i would guess so they couldnt not all meet and organize at school to secure plans and then so they would not all be bused to a major bus depot like what happened at Mondawin mall yesterday.

just got a crying phone call from my lady. she just came back from lunch with our daughter and said a lot of stores are looted. the metro PCS were she pays her phone bill was "gutted". these stores are a few blocks away.

everyone in fells is preparing for another purge at 3 pm today.

what happens if an officer is shot and killed? what happens if a rioter is killed? a police officer was shot at yesterday by a rioter.

---------------------

the 7-11 across the street from me was looted. i didnt hear any commotion or broken glass. there were cop sirens racing around in packs and police helicopters.

Well it's 3pm, we'll see what's up. I heard they were going to hit up Owings Mills Mall which would show how stupid these kids actually are because that mall is already practically abandoned.

Re: Baltimore riots

My belief is that this was a one night thing.

Friday, when they release the preliminary report on the Freddie Gray, will be another flashpoint. Hopefully, they won't pull a Ferguson and announce it in the evening.

i also believe it was a one night thing until the announce charges.

but i do think there will be smash n grab groups out there. hopefully the police arrest anyone on the streets. its just too easy for ppl form perkins holmes to run out, loot real quick, then run back.

strange to think i cant walk outside my building tonight if i need to get milk or something across the street.
------------------------------
i dont know how to say this without sounding critical but balt city's new DA was working for an insurance company doing defense of car accident cases before she put her name on the ballot. no one else ran. she was just elected. she worked for a few years as an ADA prior to doing car accidents. i had a case against her. she is young. she is pleasant and generally seems like a nice person but i dont think she had to earn much in life. i will stop here.

Re: Baltimore riots

Latest updates on the Baltimore riots and Freddie Gray case

apparently things are kinda peaceful. looks like white and blacks are walking together. looks like a community feel and not kids running in packs.

im sure there will be bash n grabs but hopefully no large violent packs.

could baltimore be coming together? at least for a moment?

Guaranteed DHS will track her down and punish her. It won't make the news.
