Re: Yankees and Phillies eliminated (MLB Playoffs)
Yup, I chose the Rangers back when I was a kid specifically for the reason that they used to play in Washington. I've been rooting for them for about 30 years. I tried switching to the Nationals, but there's just no way for diehard fans of any team to do that.

Re: Yankees and Phillies eliminated (MLB Playoffs)
Thats like the people going to bed when the Redskins beat Dallas in that Monday night game in the last 5 min. I'm not a big baseball fan but I cut on the game in the 5th or 6th inning when I got home from work and watch a great game. I'm cheering for the Cards just because they are not from Texas. LOL

Re: Yankees and Phillies eliminated (MLB Playoffs)
Had to be one of the best games of all time. So glad I caught it.
You know what's super annoying though, when you're into the game (at a bar) and some asshole is trying to bend your ear about some bullshit because he's not into the game. I wanted to tell this guy to shut the f*ck up. Last edited by 12thMan; 10-28-2011 at 12:06 PM. |

Yeah i know, and although it was a great game and exciting i just side with being rested for work then watching baseball. In retrospect i wish i stayed up though... i do however always side with Redskins and sometimes other football games over work. I remember exactly where i was and exactly what i was doing when i watched Moss catch 2 tds in 5 minutes in dallas that Monday night.

I wont go to bars anyone more to watch any game i care about because of this reason. Im at the point where im not really crazy about watching Redskins games at friends houses or with anyone else but myself.

Yup. This is why I tend to avoid Super Bowl parties. I want to watch the game, not talk about how great the onion dip is.

Re: Yankees and Phillies eliminated (MLB Playoffs)
It was really awkward because it's a guy, though we're not buddy buddy, that I usually see at another bar. So at first I felt obligated to engage in small chit chat. But he just took the shit way too far -- dumping on me about his family, job, do I eat seafood? WTF? At first I thought he was hitting on me in some strange ass way.

But yeah, I never watch Skins games at bars. They're usually filled with assholes that think they know a lot about football and usually don't know a damn thing.

And on top of that, there was a bunch of Cowboys fans at the bar that kept cheering for the Eagles during their comeback against the Giants. Stupid. I don't mind watching the game at my house or a friends house with a couple of friends over, but that's because we know what time it is, and we don't sit there and talk about interesting dip flavors or whatever when the game is on.

I like Buck. As I think he doesn't get too excited. Just the same. As you need someone not to be biased. Like a lot of these announcers are.
Texans had a chance to win the game in two innings but blew both chances last night.

Looks like Texas is gonna have to wait another year. They blew it. 2 times all they needed was a strike and they failed. Good job Cards.
