Re: Jaworski breaks down the Redskins
His comment about wishing Davis and the other WRs didn't do "blackboard running" was interesting because isn't that essentially key to the WCO? To run exact, precise routes with very limited variation?

Re: Jaworski breaks down the Redskins
Maybe he's saying the offense needs more option routes?

Re: Jaworski breaks down the Redskins
He makes a great case for Jason Campbell. Being an ex QB himself he's well aware of how the word "development" cannot be understated. Great QB are not made in a couple years in the NFL, the very good ones have been around for a while.

Re: Jaworski breaks down the Redskins
Hmm, I always thought it was Vinny and Snyder who broke down the Redskins.

Re: Jaworski breaks down the Redskins
I really liked that article. My only concern was that he still used terms like "long way to go" and "the clay is starting to mold" when describing Campbell. This is a 5th year QB, not a rookie or 2nd year guy -- my patience is worn out with waiting for him to be a solid, consistent leader and QB. I'm not a JC hater and would love to see him back here next year but we've been hearing that sort of description for the last 3 years.

Re: Jaworski breaks down the Redskins
Yeah, but his comments of JC dont lead to the conclusion that he not a good QB in terms of learning offenses. I think Jaws is noting how the constant change is the root cause of the issue, not Campbell.

Re: Jaworski breaks down the Redskins
Again JC haters can point to Aaron Rodgers, because he has a pretty bad line. But Rodgers has been in the same system for 2-3 years, plus he was groomed by one of the best in the business. I dont put Brunell or Collins near Farve, so lets not even think about that.
Bad Oline + constant change = bad QB play. I doubt any QBs would have succeeded here.

Re: Jaworski breaks down the Redskins
Jaworski is good at breaking down film, but it seems like he already has an opinion about what he is going to analyze before he sees the film.
And here's a sentence from the article that I don't agree with. For the most part, he sees a team with Pro Bowl effort across the board and Pop Warner talent where it hurts most. Calling the redskins, Pop Warner talent is somewhat demeaning. No matter how you judge the talent, I would take this version of the redskins over the one that started the season any day. |

Re: Jaworski breaks down the Redskins
I agree. Everytime JC starts "getting it", they change the system. Plus we haven't exactly been restocking our 0-line with a bunch of studs over the years.

Re: Jaworski breaks down the Redskins
His take on that long run by Ganther is on target. Ganther doesn't have much straight line speed. Gotta love his heart, but that's the kind of play where you need someone to take it the distance.

He seems to be saying that the team's talent at certain positions was that much greater at the beginning of the season. |

Re: Jaworski breaks down the Redskins
No. But I think it points out our need for a speedy young RB.

Re: Jaworski breaks down the Redskins
But I think the point he was making was in comparison to the redskins team and players that started the season to what it is now. Here's another paragraph taken from the article:
"When you consider this bunch that's playing right now with what they started the season with -- the offensive line, the tight end, the running backs -- I mean, it's a practice squad team," Jaworski said. |
