Re: Redskins Signing Adrian Peterson
All Day AP more like Sometimes in the Morning AP now.
But we needed a body and someone that can handle a good sized workload. He fits the bill. Hopefully they don't use this as reason to push Marshall to IR before they find out if its really needed.

Re: Redskins Signing Adrian Peterson
Hope he can find the fountain of youth here but I doubt it’s going to happen.

They’re friends, played together at OU, work out together in the offseason |

Re: Redskins Signing Adrian Peterson
Last two seasons combined a 3.1 YPC and he is 33 years old. That is well past the expiration date of your typical running back. I doubt he will out perform a practice squad player at this point.

Re: Redskins Signing Adrian Peterson
Kinda hard to like this move when our left Tackle is faster than AP
I suppose this means AP is our #1 RB for first 2 downs. I don't believe AP would sign if he knew he wouldn't get to play much. |

Re: Redskins Signing Adrian Peterson
Reportedly there is NO guaranteed money. It is almost a 2-week tryout.

Re: Redskins Signing Adrian Peterson
Trent was very vocal on Social Media behind AD signing , they have been close for years.

Re: Redskins Signing Adrian Peterson
I'm ok with it. Had to bring someone in, might as well be AP. Apparently Darkwa wasn't coming in unless he was going to be crowned the starter...
At a minimum he provides a healthy body to eat up carries, while we kick the tires and see what he has over the next couple weeks. Just his presence likely helps the running back room too. My wish for the 3rd preseason game is to see Bibbs and AP split carries with the 1st offense for the 1st half. I know that won't happen, but it would be good to see what they can do with the starters. I actually think Bibbs is better than Kelley, but he doesn't get any love. Time will tell if this signing means anything, or if he is actually on the 53 man roster, but for now it's a move that had to be made. |

Re: Redskins Signing Adrian Peterson
BTW, AP had more attempts per game than RK and SP combined last year, and averaged more yards than them - mostly behind a terrible Cardinals O-line. I don't see it as a downgrade when you compare him to what we have. Even at 33 defenses will have to respect his talent, opening up things for AS and all his other weapons.

Re: Redskins Signing Adrian Peterson
He has never said that . He didn't do that in NY,something seems wrong here.

Jay's job is on the line and Dough Williams has been consistently saying that they need to improve the running game (a judgement on all the returning RBs not named Chris Thompson). With Guice out and all the injuries, the running game would have been back to last year's status. AP was given a 1-year deal, which is very low risk/high reward type of situation IMO. I'd prefer this outcome, as opposed to giving up a draft pick on a 1-year rental. Did you forget the TJ Duckett trade? That was Vinny ball. Also, I prefer this to the status quo of having a recovering CT, banged up Perine and just Kelly and Bibbs healthy.

Re: Redskins Signing Adrian Peterson
It's an OK move. We need a healthy body. AP is a healthy body. If anything, it will push Fat Rob and Perine.
