Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
I wonder why Thomas Brown is JP Findlay's favorite candidate.

I don't know, but he's been talking him up on his podcast.

Brown is 36. I like that. Seems like an up and comer. He is a Mark Richt guy. Much rather him than a Shurmur

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
We just need someone who can get this offense humming. Figure out what we can do well, and do it - often. Don't get cute, don't outsmart yourself, use the myriad of weapons at your disposal, and keep it simple.
The D should be as good or better next year. These are the only free agents on the defense: Payne, Bostic, Mayo, Reaves, Wildgoose, & Obada. Figure out a way to keep Payne and Reaves, draft a shutdown CB in round 1, sign Tremaine Edmunds, revamp the O-line, and we're headed to Super Bowl LVIII. |

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
I like the Charles London and Thomas Brown OC interviews, hopefully we get one of those 2.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
I don't know anything about any of these potential candidates. A young "up and comer" sounds good, but isn't that what ST was? Sometimes I feel like we're chasing our tail...
For some reason I just think it's going to be Zampese or Shurmur. Which is fine. |

We finally have a position coach worth a damn who gets some big recognition league wide and first thing he does is he walks.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
I'm sure he just sees a better opportunity anywhere but here. Can't blame him really. No telling who is going to be here this time next year. This secondary hasn't exactly been lighting it up anyway. We have some nice players, but nobody's locking anything down, and the communication often times leaves a lot to be desired.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
The jury is still out as to whether we have solved the QB riddle, and the offensive line needs some attention this offseason, but it's no secret this offense has the talent to succeed. We just need an OC that can get it going so this team can finally play complementary football consistently.
Here is the list of who I am tracking as potential OCs - they have either interviewed already or are scheduled to. Thomas Brown - Los Angeles Rams asst. HC/TE coach Pat Shurmur - Former Denver Broncos OC/Giants, Browns head coach Ken Zampese - Commanders QB coach Charles London - Atlanta Falcons QBs coach Eric Studesville - Dolphins asst. HC/RB coach Other? Curious what everyone's thoughts are about these guys. Do you have a favorite? Who do you think it will ultimately be? |
