Re: Replacement refs: The story the NFL wants to keep quiet
These replacement refs are not just as joke. But they are really ruining the game of NFL. Players, coaches, teams, fans are really getting ticked off.

Re: Replacement refs: The story the NFL wants to keep quiet
Is there any news on resolving Ref-Gate today? Hopefully this weekend, and especially last night, motivated folks in positions of power to action.

$181,250 a team? Seriously...just split the difference and fix the game.

Re: Replacement refs: The story the NFL wants to keep quiet
The issue is that the part time refs want a full time employees pension plan. The plan they want some full time NFL employees do not receive so how can the give the part time REFs a better pension?

Re: Replacement refs: The story the NFL wants to keep quiet
the commish gets $20mill for turning the league into a sideshow? doesn't seem like he's up to the task either.

The fact is the harder the job, the more it is supposed to get paid. If its a specialty job, stop comparing it to the cashier at the local wal-mart. If the cashier at wal-mart could ref NFL games efficiently at 7 dollars an hour, this thread doesnt exist. Since the NFL is making 9 billion per year, and the replacement refs are making them look like a joke, the normal NFL refs are sure looking like they earn that money and pension. If they have earned it, then let them have it. This entire argument that some cashiers and secretaries are full time and dont receive a pension are not legitimate arguments over whether an NFL ref deserves one or not. |

I do see owners part of the argument as well though, I mean these guys work what 20 games a year counting playoffs and they make damn good money, but it's just gotten to a point that the league needs to get this done ASAP. It's beyond ridiculous

Again though its about how important their job is. Brain surgeons arent doing multiple brain surgeries every day but when one needs to be done are you going to pay him or some kid in med school?
