Re: Replacement refs: The story the NFL wants to keep quiet
Right before the hit to Hey-Bey, some other Raiders receiver got slammed with a helmet-to-helmet hit. I am sure this is a situation where a thrown flag would have in some way prevented any other helmet-to-helmet hits, like the one to Hey-Bey.

Re: Replacement refs: The story the NFL wants to keep quiet
I haven't confirmed myself but that famous former-Lingerie League ref was working last night.
Source: Radio report claiming the Lingerie League themselves were stating this. Crazy...one ref was signally no TD and the other signaled TD, standing right beside each other! If this doesn't move things forward FAST, we'll know the NFL doesn't care.

Re: Replacement refs: The story the NFL wants to keep quiet
Good read on the real issues behind the NFLRA Lockout.
Brandt, who I like alot, tries to be fair, but to me it sounds like he puts it on the owners. ESPN NFL Will MNF outcome break stalemate? Last edited by CRedskinsRule; 09-25-2012 at 01:18 PM. Reason: add link |

Re: Replacement refs: The story the NFL wants to keep quiet
The crazy thing is there are actually people who still believe the refs aren't doing any worse of a job than the regulars, and also believe last night's call was correct...LOL! I find that mind-boggling.

Re: Replacement refs: The story the NFL wants to keep quiet
lol. If they are the best then we are all screwed. This season will be a joke, when you have teams that are so close in paridity or when you have a team like ours that is on the edge talent wise the refs can alter the outcomes of games even if the calls arent as blantant as what we saw last night. The flow of a game is a big determing factor in who wins as is the rules, when you have a situation like this no one wins. It is a shame that we are going to have to sit through this while they firgure it out and wonder what might have been.
